Job Description:

Position: Compliance Auditor                 
Location: Bournemouth or Staverton
Working Hours: Full-Time, 40 Hours per weekGama Aviation is looking to add a driven and highly organise Compliance Auditor to our Part 145 Compliance team. This role can be based in either Bournemouth or Staverton and will report to the Head of Compliance Part 145. The Compliance Auditor will be responsible for performing administrative, analytical, and investigative functions to develop, maintain, and promote organisational standards in Compliance Management. The role ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, supports continuous improvement of compliance system, and strengthens the organisation’s compliance system.

Responsibilities:
  • Regulatory Liaison — Coordinate with national and international regulatory authorities to manage initial applications, renewals, and amendments to company approvals.
  • MOE and Procedures Administration — Process updates and amendments to the organisation’s Maintenance Organisation Exposition and procedures, ensuring accuracy and regulatory alignment.
  • Compliance Communications — Issue, distribute, and maintain Quality Alert Bulletins across the organisation.
  • Personnel Authorisations — Analyse and process applications, renewals, and changes to personal certification authorisations.
  • Performance of Audits – Carry out internal audits, supplier, subcontractors and contractor audits, as well as supporting external audits such as customer and/ or regulatory audits. Issuance of findings and observations for the improvement of the organisation and ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Compliance Findings Management — Monitor responses to compliance findings to ensure closure within agreed timescales and escalate delays when necessary.
  • Control Measure Monitoring — Track and verify the implementation of corrective and preventive actions following safety events.
  • Any additional duties as may be set by the Compliance and Safety Manager.
  • Assess compliance with applicable aviation regulations (UK CAA & EASA), including Part 145, MAA (Military Aviation Authority) requirements, and BCAR standards.
  • Plan, execute, and report audits in line with the organisation’s audit programme and regulatory expectations.
  • Generate clear & concise, audit reports, including findings, root cause analysis, and corrective action recommendations.
  • Monitor the closure of audit findings and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
  • Support regulatory audits and act as a point of contact for oversight bodies where required.
  • Promote a strong safety and compliance culture across engineering, production and design teams.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within engineering, maintenance, and quality systems.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, quality, and operational departments to drive compliance and performance enhancements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving aviation regulations and best practices.
  • Undertake regular UK travel to operational bases and maintenance facilities.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience required:
  • Proven experience conducting audits within an aviation engineering or maintenance environment.
  • Strong working knowledge of Part 145 (EASA & UK CAA)
  • Familiarity with fixed-wing and rotary-wing aircraft maintenance operations.
  • Experience with Part 21 Subpart G and/or J, MAA regulations and BCAR requirements (desirable).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking capability.
  • A proactive mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and quality enhancement.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain UK Security Check (SC) clearance.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel extensively within the UK.
