Position SummaryReporting to the Line Maintenance Support (LMS) Shop Manager, the Line Maintenance Support (LMS) Shop Technician is responsible for dismantling, cleaning, inspecting, repair/overhaul, testing and painting aircraft components.Personal CharacteristicsHighly flexible, with the ability to respond quickly in a dynamic environmentProfessional and respectful, with a positive work attitudeTimely with a high level of commitment to on-time performance is essentialMotivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a teamEffective verbal and written communication skillsHigh level of respect, understanding and regard for First Nations communitiesKey Responsibilities and AccountabilitiesAccomplish the dismantling, cleaning, inspection, repair/overhaul, testing and painting of aircraft componentsEnsure all work is carried out using industry practices in conjunction with the applicable Aircraft and Component Maintenance Manuals, Perimeter policies/procedures and specifications set down by outside regulatory agenciesFollow direction of SCA qualified personnel for on-the-job training and once qualified, mentor/train junior staff as instructed by managementMaintain a neat and tidy workspaceMake recommendations on policy and procedures to improve shop productivity and safety and to contribute to continuous improvementPerform all other tasks as assigned by ManagerComply with and actively promote Perimeter Safety PoliciesTake part in any CAPs as necessary when defined by Perimeter’s SMSTake part in correcting any audit findings as identified by Perimeter’s QA DeptPerform additional duties as assignedMinimum Education, Experience and CertificationsHigh school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalentMust be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizationsExperience using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word)Previous experience in the aviation industry considered an assetPost-secondary education in aviation or something related is considered an assetPrevious experience related to component overhaul and troubleshooting is considered an assetValid Driver’s License is considered an assetIndigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an assetWorking ConditionsPhysically able to perform all listed job dutiesTravel by aircraft and other means as required by roleWork in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling daily
