Job Description – Communications Trainer
Position Overview
- Design and deliver effective communication and language-focused behavioural skills training
- Strengthen spoken and written workplace communication through structured teaching and coaching
- Create engaging learning experiences across classroom, virtual, and digital formats
- Support organisational goals through aligned L&D and OD initiatives
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced environment requiring flexibility and responsiveness
Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs)
Language & Communication Training Delivery
- Design and deliver communication and language skills training with clear learning outcomes
- Teach spoken English and workplace communication using structured, adult-learning methodologies
- Facilitate sessions focused on clarity, pronunciation, tone, confidence, and comprehension
- Deliver targeted language coaching based on observed performance gaps
- Reinforce organisational communication standards through training and coaching
Training Design & Content Development
- Develop learning content across formats:
- Trainer-led presentations and facilitator guides
- Language practice activities, role plays, and simulations
- Digital modules, toolkits, and learner reference material
- Ensure language accuracy, progression, and learner-appropriate difficulty in all content
- Adapt material based on learner profiles, feedback, and operational needs
Coaching, Quality & Performance Support
- Conduct communication and language observations from a training perspective
- Translate feedback and performance inputs into actionable coaching plans
- Provide corrective and developmental language coaching for individuals and groups
- Maintain training documentation and learning references
Stakeholder & Learning Community Engagement
- Partner with internal stakeholders to align communication training with business needs
- Build and support learning communities focused on continuous language improvement
- Support onboarding of new team members into communication expectations
- Ensure consistent reinforcement of key communication behaviours
Learning Effectiveness & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate training effectiveness using feedback and performance indicators
- Recommend improvements to teaching approaches, content, and delivery
- Contribute to broader L&D and OD initiatives where communication capability is critical
- Support periodic reviews and updates to communication-related learning material

- Trainers are expected to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality standards
Requirements
- 2–4 years of experience in communication training, language facilitation, or English skills delivery
- Demonstrable ability to teach spoken English and workplace communication effectively
- Strong understanding of adult learning principles and behavioural skills training
- Proficiency in learning and collaboration tools (LMS, presentation tools, engagement platforms, spreadsheets)
- Ability to manage multiple initiatives and meet tight timelines
- Strong facilitation, articulation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Master’s degree in management, education, communication, or a related field
Desirable
- Formal qualification in English Language Teaching, Education, Communication, Linguistics, or related fields(e.g., ELT, TESOL, TEFL, CELTA, or equivalent experience)
- Experience teaching communication or language skills in service-oriented environments
- Exposure to assessment, feedback, or coaching in communication-intensive roles
- High attention to detail, adaptability, and strong collaboration skills
