Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Electrical System Technician to join our team and contribute to the installation and maintenance of electrical systems. The ideal candidate will have experience working with instrumentation and control technology, and will be responsible for building and installing conduit systems, wiring electrical enclosures, and completing PLC terminations.

Responsibilities

  • Build and install conduit systems ranging from 1" to 4".
  • Perform wire pulls to support electrical system installations.
  • Complete instrument and PLC terminations with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assemble and wire electrical enclosures according to project specifications.
Essential Skills
  • Proficiency in electrical, PLC troubleshooting, and wiring.
  • Experience with conduit builds from 1 inch through 4 inch.
  • Ability to perform wire pulls and handle instrument terminations.
  • Knowledge in PLC terminations and electrical enclosure building.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience with multimeters, RTDs, thermocouples, strain gages, load cells, and other instrumentation.
  • Ability to install, cut, thread, and bend rigid conduit.
  • Professional experience using power tools.
  • Familiarity with electronic system assembly and construction.
  • Working knowledge of PLC hardware, HMI, and GUI.
  • Intimate knowledge of electronic test equipment such as multimeters, process meters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience in rocket launch facilities and support for launch campaigns.
  • Basic understanding of Wheatstone bridge theory and Ohms law.
  • Associate degree in instrumentation, control technology, electrical systems, or related field.
  • Experience working in corrosive environments and knowledge of mitigation techniques.
  • Operational knowledge of soldering wires, connectors, and using oscilloscopes and multimeters.
  • System-level troubleshooting skills and ability to solve instrumentation system problems.
  • Knowledge of signal conditioning concepts for various types of sensors.
  • Experience with DC power supplies, DC-DC converters, UPS installations, heat shrink tubing, cable harnessing, and strain relief concepts.
  • Working knowledge of transducers, operational amplifiers, and measurement techniques for temperature, pressure, flow, displacement, vibration, and strain gages.

Work Environment

Work is conducted 50/50 between outdoor and indoor settings, including launch pad and test site environments. Employees should be prepared to work in varying conditions and utilize appropriate attire and equipment.

This is a Contract position based out of Brownsville, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $35.00/hr.
