Job Description:
Position Summary
The Coordinator Security SOC (System Operations Center) Blue Watch monitors and reacts to all security related incidents and reports, throughout the JetBlue system, from a designated “Security Desk” known as “Blue Watch” in the System Operations Center.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Manager System Operations Center to provide “real time” assessment and guidance with respect to inflight and ground security related incidents and access control breaches
- Respond to inquiries from federal, state, and local law enforcement authorities
- Provide appropriate interpretation and dissemination of security regulations and information to all JetBlue entities as needed, such as resolving Transportation Security Administration (TSA) “no fly” and “selectee” issues
- Facilitate resolution security circumstances that impact upon JetBlue operations
- Make timely notifications to leadership on matters affecting the operation
- Document reported incidents in the department database
- Prepare written reports and analytical spreadsheets as necessary
- Must comply with and ensure adherence to all security and safety standards
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) Diploma
- One (1) year of experience in aviation operations, law enforcement or the private security sector
- Complete fluency in written and spoken English
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Able to work in a fast paced team environment
- Able to work well under pressure
- Required to have the ability to work any and all shifts to support this 24/7 operational desk
- Ability to maintain strict confidentiality
- Available for overnight travel (10%)
- Must pass a pre-employment drug test
- Must be legally eligible to work in the country in which the position is located
- Authorization to work in the US is required. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship
Preferred Experience and Qualifications
- College Degree
- Three (3) years of experience in aviation operations, law enforcement or the private security sector
- Bilingual (Spanish)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
Crewmember Expectations:
- Regular attendance and punctuality
- Potential need to work flexible hours and be available to respond on short-notice
- Able to maintain a professional appearance
- When working or traveling on JetBlue flights, and if time permits, all capable crewmembers are asked to assist with light cleaning of the aircraft
- Must be an appropriate organizational fit for the JetBlue culture, that is, exhibit the JetBlue values of Safety, Caring, Integrity, Passion and Fun
- Promote JetBlue’s #1 value of safety as a Safety Ambassador, supporting JetBlue’s Safety Management System (SMS) components, Safety Policy and behavioral standards
- Identify safety and/or security concerns, issues, incidents or hazards that should be reported and report them whenever possible and by any means necessary including JetBlue’s confidential reporting systems (Aviation Safety Action Program (ASAP) or Safety Action Report (SAR))

Compensation:
- The base pay range for this position is between $58,500.00 and $77,800.00 per year. Base pay is one component of JetBlue’s total compensation package, which may also include access to healthcare benefits, a 401(k) plan and company match, crewmember stock purchase plan, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, free space available travel on JetBlue, and more.
