BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate
- 1+ years of professional experience working with the following instrumentation: transducers, accelerometers, or thermocouples
PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Associate degree in Aerospace Technology or another technical field
- 2+ years of professional, hands-on experience working with launch site instrumentation
- Experience with ISO 9000, IPC-620, and ICP-610 standards
- Quality inspection experience with harnessing and cables
- Understanding of basic direct current electrical theory
- Experience helping to develop and document procedures
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Ability to design and fabricate simple electrical circuits
- PLC and DAQ programming experience
- Experience with NI Max, Step 7, Studio 5000
- Proficient with use of power tools (e.g. hand drills, grinders, band saws, vacuums, and impact drivers)
- Proficient with use of hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, screw drivers, brooms, flush cuts, and wrenches)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Ability to pass Air Force background check for Cape Canaveral
- Ability to work one of the following schedules:
- Wed - Sat 6:00am - 6:30pm
- Sun - Wed 6:00am - 6:30pm
- General physical fitness is required for some work areas, hardware typically is built in tight quarters and physical dexterity is required
- Ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to work at elevated heights
- Ability to work in extreme environments – heat, cold, rain, fumes, odors, and noise
- Willing to work extended hours and weekends, as needed
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Pay range:
Data & Control Systems Technician/Level 1: $23.00 - $31.00/hour
Data & Control Systems Technician/Level 2: $28.00 - $37.00/hour
Data & Control Systems Technician/Level 3: $33.00 - $43.00/hour
Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.
