DIAMOND TURNING PROGRAMMER (STARLINK)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Run SPDT (single point diamond turning) machines to meet program and part specifications
  • Set up and operate multi-axis CNC machines (mills and lathes)
  • Complete machining operations from blueprints, drawings and/or verbal instructions
  • Work with complex, tight tolerance parts and various materials (sub-micron tolerances)
  • High attention to detail and ability to strictly follow standard work instructions and processes
  • Document non-conformances and associated rework and quickly return non-conforming product back into normal workflow
Job Requirements:

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1+ years of experience in set up, operation and/or programming of SPDT (single point diamond turning) machines
  • 1+ years of experience in set up, operation and/or programming of CNC mill or lathe machines

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience scaling an optical machining operation from development through high rate production
  • General knowledge of optical systems and how they function
  • Familiarity with interferometry, optical testing and alignment
  • Proficiency using SPDT CAM software (nanotech or precitech)
  • Experience in research and development or other fast-paced technical environments
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics and/or drawings
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) and ability to navigate and manipulate files
  • Ability to rapidly change roles/responsibilities while working in a high-paced, challenging work environment
  • Ability to take on project-based goals and deliver a final product, working beyond individual task assignments
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be willing to work all shifts, overtime, and/or weekends as needed
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Repetitive assembly operations, grasping, standing, lifting, bending, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Diamond Turning Programmer/Level 1: $32.00 - $40.00/hour

Diamond Turning Programmer/Level 2: $36.00 - $45.00/hour

Diamond Turning Programmer/Level 3: $40.00 - $50.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
