An exciting job opportunity for a &39;Regulation & policies manager&39; is opened within the Initial Airworthiness department of Airbus Helicopters in Marignane.

Your challenge

In this position, you main missions will be:

             To protect Airbus Helicopters Group and customers&39; interests and to accompany innovation in rulemaking and standardisation activities related to the airworthiness and environmental certification of aeronautical products as well as Operational Regulation

             To prepare future regulations for UAS / UAM / helicopters, and secure AH, customer and safety interests

             To organize actions as necessary in order to influence Authorities rulemaking activities

             To contribute to maintain and expand core competencies, ensuring distribution of regulatory information within Airbus Helicopters and timely awareness of consequences of regulatory changes on Airbus Helicopters products and services

             To provide advice on regulatory issues within the scope of existing or new projects and to contribute to the drawing of policies

             To develop, maintain and deliver training / information on regulations

             To contribute to define, in liaison with the concerned Departments, the actions for ensuring or improving the compliance of Airbus Helicopters to the Regulations

             To ensure the relevant representation of Airbus Helicopters in national and international working groups related to airworthiness and operational regulations, to manage the corresponding budget and to participate personally to some of these Working Groups.

             To deploy and manage the standardization governance in the field of airworthiness at Airbus Helicopters & European Industry (ASD) levels

             To contribute on development of future expertise within Airbus Helicopters Group (e.g. UAS, OSD etc.) 

Main tasks: 

The jobholder, in the frame of Airbus Helicopters Regulations and Policies organisation, and under the responsibility of the Regulations & Policies Manager and Team Leader, has the responsibilities to perform activities leading to:

             Survey and analyse certification, air operations and regulations change plans and proposals

             Propose new rulemaking tasks for rulemaking bodies consideration in line with strategy and business development related to certification and operational regulations issues within the scope of existing helicopter types or new projects.

             Organise and lead the commenting on published rulemaking documents.

             Distribute and explain certification and operational regulations changes with a particular focus on instruments and equipment.

             Ensure that all concerned departments are aware of consequences of regulatory changes on Airbus Helicopters products and services.

             Advise engineering, other directorates (Programmes, Support and Services) and possibly external parties (suppliers, subcontractors, customers) on regulatory issues.

             Maintain a high level of expertise in airworthiness and air operations regulations.

             Contribute to the continuous improvement of processes for the certification of products.

             Contribute to maintain and increase the Airbus Helicopters credibility towards the civil aviation authorities and rulemaking bodies.

Your profile:

  • Educated to 5-year degree level in Engineering,

  • Good relationship and communication skills in an international context,

  • Synthetic, meticulous/structured way of working, dynamic and proactive,

  • Team spirit,

  • Result-oriented,

  • French and English: negotiation level.

  • The function requires profound and sound knowledge and expertise on aviation safety regulations currently in place and coming up in future:

            Multi-disciplinary technical expertise in VTOL/helicopters helicopters systems, human factors, safety analysis and related regulations.

             Expertise in certification projects and supplemental type certificates, modification process and continued airworthiness for rotorcraft products

             Expertise in rulemaking / standardization e.g. for airworthiness regulations and certification specifications (CS 27/29, Parts 27/29, OSD), bilateral agreements with foreign authorities (FAA, TCCA, ANAC, CAAC, FATA)

             Good knowledge of Part 21 Design Organisation Approval (DOA) requirements

             Expertise about and in relationships with aviation authorities (DGAC-F, LBA, EASA, FAA, TCCA, OACI)
