Responsibilities
Parker Aerospace is part of the Parker Hannifin corporation with annual global sales of $15billion and is a global leader in the research, design, manufacture, and service of flight control, hydraulic, fuel inerting, fluid conveyance, thermal management, and engine systems and components for aerospace and other high-technology spanets.
The state-of-the-art manufacturing facility at Ansty is a pivotal site to the Parker Aerospace Group and houses around 850 employees managed by the Ansty HR team who are accountable for all people related matters covering the full employee lifecycle.
In this newly developed role, you will work alongside the Site HR Manager supporting leaders and managers across a varied client group that has recently undergone significant change; covering strategic work focused on Talent, Succession, L&D, DE&I and Employee Engagement. This role will also have four direct reports, which includes the site HR Administrator and 3x Operational HR Specialists. products, systems and services across a wide range of industries. Your day-to-day:
- Manages the HR Specialist team and team HR Administrator to support the HR Business partners to effectively deliver HR solutions within their respective business areas.
- Develop and implement HR SLA’s ensuring these are appropriately defined / adjusted to reflect current and any changes in process or procedure to provide a first-class service to our customers.
- Manage employee relations casework across the team and lead on complex employee relations cases, with the ability to manage a large volume of cases at one time including disciplinary, grievance, performance management and absence management.
- Provides support and partners closely with senior leaders across Parker Meggitt to build people capability, plan and manage talent and to achieve organisational goals in line with the Parker WIN Strategy.
- Lead on the annual HR cyclical people processes, including goal setting, performance calibrations, talent management discussions (Talking Talent), annual pay and bonus reviews for their direct reports.
- Support site HR projects to achieve the strategic objective of “Engaged People” and D&I focus, including the development and design of bespoke engagement plans.
- Design and implement action plans to address people related challenges or issues across their Stakeholder groups e.g., improving attendance, retention, addressing skills gaps and promoting an inclusive workplace.
- Coach and advise managers and HR Specialists/Advisors on site-based HR policy and procedures, ensuring adherence to company processes and upskilling managers on people related procedure. Work with the Site HR team to implement policy improvements, procedures and documentation.
- Develop the HR Administrator and HR Specialists alongside the Site HRM.
- Produce monthly people metrics and identify trends across the Ansty Park site.
Who we are looking for
- Level 7 or higher qualified HR Generalist with extensive experience within a large Manufacturing / Engineering organisation.
- A good level of understanding of UK Employment Law and confident in applying both pragmatic and legally sound HR solutions
- Previous experience of developing, motivating and inspiring a newly formed team in a shared service environment.
- Has ability to work on complex ER cases and delegate work where necessary
- Is a commercially aware business partner and able to manage a diverse client group from different areas of the organisations (Corporate, Group and Location based)
