Ergonomist

Location: Broughton
Contract: 12 months
Rate: Negotiable DOE

Overview

Provide ergonomics/HF support to manufacturing processes, assembly and tooling. Reduce ergonomic risk, influence design decisions and support compliance across engineering, operations and H&S.

Responsibilities

• Analyse assembly/installation work for ergonomic risk
• Recommend mitigation and implement ergonomic action plans
• Influence design/tooling to embed “design for manufacture” and user-centred principles
• Support specifications, tenders and supplier engagement for HF work packages
• Ensure compliance with HF standards and legislation; track emerging guidance
• Produce concise reports and brief stakeholders
• Support ergonomics initiatives across other sites as needed

Essential Skills

• Degree (or higher) in Ergonomics / Human Factors (CIEHF-accredited education)
• Registered or working toward Registered Membership (CIEHF or equivalent)
• Strong understanding of HF/ergonomics, ideally in aerospace or similar manufacturing context
• Experience assessing ergonomic risks and proposing practical mitigations in industrial settings
• Proficient with assessment tools, standards and technical reporting
• Effective communicator able to influence engineering stakeholders; able to work autonomously

Desirable

• Prior experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering environments
• Experience with outsourced HF packages / supplier oversight
