Ensure timely processing, review and reconciliation of accounting transactions. Providing assurance on completeness and accuracy through internal control and reviews. Providing support to the business units in areas of stock management, assets and cash management.
Job Outline
· Review reconciliations of suppliers, customers, staff, bank and ledger accounts to ensure that they are up-to-date and accurate. This would involve follow-up within or outside the section to resolve pending items.
· Review accounting entries pertaining to Profit and Loss (P&L) and Balance Sheet accounts by investigating movements in the balances to ensure quality/accuracy of reporting.
· Check the integrity of interfaces, completeness of data and review of accrual/prepayment journals generated by the system referring any discrepancies/anomalies to immediate supervisor with recommendations for corrective action.
· Resolve disputes, queries, discrepancies with internal and external stakeholders.
· Identify areas and ensure active involvement in projects, system enhancements testing and process changes and thereby acquire in depth knowledge and enhance business processes.
