Role SummaryAs a Fabrication Specialist, you will support the production, assembly, and modification of aerospace components and systems. Your work will directly contribute to the quality, safety, and performance of aerospace products by applying precision fabrication, mechanical assembly, and finishing techniques in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
What You’ll Do Day to DaySet up and perform machining, welding, and sheet metal fabrication tasks
Bend, fabricate, and assemble tubes, extrusions, and structural components
Perform composite lay-up, fabrication, and assembly
Assemble precision mechanical and electro-mechanical components
Assemble, modify, repair, and install power plants and drive trains
Perform soldering on electronic and avionics products
Assemble and install wire harnesses and avionics systems
Prepare test articles, fixtures, and data collection devices
Perform basic chemical conversion and paint preparation processes
Apply organic coatings for corrosion protection and appearance requirements
Work from engineering drawings and specifications on moderately complex assemblies
Required QualificationsHigh school diploma or GED
Ability to work any shift based on business needs
Ability to meet physical job demands, including lifting 10–35 lbs, climbing, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods
Comfort working with high-hazard chemicals
3+ months of experience using computer applications (email, internet, Microsoft Suite, or similar)
3+ months of experience reading and interpreting work instructions, drawings, or specifications in English
3+ months of hands-on experience using basic hand, power, and/or pneumatic tools in a technical or mechanical role
Preferred QualificationsExperience with conventional material layup and precision measuring tools
CNC machining experience
Crane operation experience
Ability to read and interpret aviation drawings, schematics, material processes, and specifications
