About the role 

As a Facilities officer, you will be responsible to oversee execution of maintenance activities across Qatar Airways Residential buildings (owned as well as leased properties) by routine inspections to ensure Qatar Airways standards are maintained.  Additionally, the role will be required to organise and manage scope of work executed by service providers appointed either by QR or Building Owners to meet the contractual obligations.

Accountabilities:

 Operational

  • Implement Quality Control System through daily inspection schedules and unplanned checks to identify and propose recommendations in the scope of work as per operational requirements.
  • Responsible for overseeing Service Providers daily / weekly / monthly schedules by ensuring work completion to achieve approved SLA at all times.
  • Train Service Provider personnel regularly, brief them about the tasks and protocol to address safety and to keep them abreast of the maintenance standards of Qatar Airways.
  • Liaising regularly with contractors and vendors by communicating via Email / letters on all pending maintenance request to ensure tasks are completed on-time.
  • Audit every apartment that is being prepared for a new staff or existing staff relocating prior to its release to the Accommodation section as per the standards. 
  • Draft and review reports by covering findings to propose corrective measures and compliance with standard procedures.
  • Ensure timely corrective measures are taken, on a need basis, to address any non-confirming or recurrence situation and notify Manager of such issues.
  • Periodically follow up with the teams on all pending maintenance requests to enhance operational reliability. 
  • Maintain daily absentee log to ensure replacement is provided in a timely manner by Service providers. 
  • Participate actively in contract formation and provide input to Manager through SOW and Technical Evaluation, this includes but not limited to sending out purchase enquiry, raising RFQ/RFT, set up of technical evaluation criteria, contract preparation etc.
  • Establish robust tracking of Annual Maintenance Contract (AMC) services/tasks in accordance with SOPs.
  • Recommend rules and regulations to govern and regulate storage, disposal and transportation of contaminates.
  • Determines Hygiene program needs by undertaking measures for program execution through random hygiene checks.
  • Directs and participates in studies of health and hygiene to provide training to staff and service provider personnel and ensure all workers are briefed about health and safety whilst the hygiene related operations are carried out.
  • Respond immediately in case of any emergency situation.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

Management & Leadership

  • Establish the department or teams objectives and priorities to align with and support business objectives.
  • Regularly evaluate the department or teams objectives, plans, procedures and practices, and makes appropriate changes if needed.
  • Oversee and supervise employees.  Direct daily activities, recruit, train, develop and discipline to ensure a high standard of service delivery. 
  • Train and develop other employees, to ensure succession planning is in place.
Qualifications

About you 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
  • Similar experience in a multicultural environment. Experience working in   Hotel / Hospitality / Facilities Management.
  • Excellent knowledge of maintenance works of electrical, plumbing and drainage and air conditioning.
  • In depth knowledge of industrial cleaning chemicals and cleaning techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills in spoken and written English and handling customers in a polite and patient manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize
  • Valid Qatari or a transferable driving license.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office.
  • Managerial skills - Ability to delegate work, set clear direction and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinates skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members
