Job Summary
The Facility Maintenance Technician 2 is responsible for performing skilled maintenance and repair work on facility systems and equipment. This role involves more complex troubleshooting and repairs than an entry-level technician and requires a solid understanding of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. The Technician 2 will work both independently and as part of a team, ensuring the facility is safe, functional, and well-maintained.
Duties and Responsibilities/Essential Functions
- Perform advanced maintenance and repair tasks on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems, ensuring all work meets safety and quality.
- Conduct routine inspections of the facility to identify issues and determine maintenance needs.
- Respond to and resolve maintenance requests in a timely manner, including troubleshooting and repairing equipment and systems.
- Lead and assist with preventive maintenance programs and develop schedules for regular maintenance tasks.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, including maintenance logs and inventory of supplies.
- Help maintain cleanliness and organization within the facilities.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests outside of regular hours as necessary to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of occupants and property.
- Collaborate with other maintenance staff and contractors on larger repair projects and renovations.
- Provide guidance and training to less experienced maintenance technicians as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and company policies.
- Assist in ordering of facilities supplies/parts and maintain inventory
- Participate in training and professional development opportunities to stay current with industry trends and technologies.
- Other duties as assigned by the Facilities Supervisor/Manager.

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in facility maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in facility maintenance or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, BMS systems, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and staff.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Valid drivers license.
