Full-Stack System Programmer

Job Description:

DPP is seeking a Full-Stack System Programmer for an opportunity in Blythewood, SC.

Work arrangement:

Fully onsite in Blythewood, SC
W2 position; 12 months

Position summary:

The Programmer will support development of new business functions and troubleshooting, modification, and enhancement of existing functions in this environment within the existing application framework.
Projects may include business logic supporting on-line systems, batch programming, data extraction, and reports involving all business areas.
Will work closely and will be involved with both the UI tiers which are MS .NET applications (VB.NET, C.NET) and the database tiers in both SQL and ORACLE.
Production troubleshooting support will be expected so some level of production support experience is required.
Will be expected to work with minimal supervision, will be in direct contact with business area specialists, develop technical approaches and designs, code, test, and support these functions. Communications skills must be excellent.

Responsibilities:

Analyze Phoenix II, Web Service, and batch business applications
Take the lead in analyzing and trouble-shooting assigned system problems
Propose solutions
Code, test, promote, and interact with impacted users ensuring that solution meets requirements.
Provide daily and weekly status to the development manager.

Required:

Bachelor&39;s degree in Information Technology or related discipline with 8 years of experience or 10 years of experience without Bachelor&39;s degree.
8 to 10 years of full stack system development in a complex and mission critical three-tier system development environment spanning COBOL, .Net, Web/Mobile, Oracle and MS SQL Server.
Strong DevSecOps skills and familiarity including formal release management processes, comprehensive testing (not just "Happy Path"), and strong collaboration and coaching skills.
COBOL development with MICROFOCUS Visual COBOL using Visual Studio 2019/2022 in Windows Server 2022 under IIS.
MICROFOCUS Visual COBOL V7, V9, or higher strongly preferred.
Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle, MS SQL Server).
Accessing Oracle and MS SQL Server enterprise databases from within the programming (COBOL) platform.
Crafting SQL statements to support required system functionality.

Preferred:

Visual Studio 2019 and higher – Debugging
Microsoft Team Foundation Server
IIS configuration/setup
Microsoft Team Foundation Server
Microsoft C .NET
Application programming against RDBMS (Oracle, SQL).
SQL for Oracle DB and MS SQL Server.
MS Technical Certifications are a plus.
MicroFocus certifications
DevSecOps certifications
