Job Title: GSE Mechanic
Job Description
The GSE Mechanic is responsible for inspecting and identifying defective or broken parts on vehicles, specifically Ground Support Equipment, and making necessary repairs to diesel engines, hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems. The role requires close collaboration with the Operations Manager and Line Service Department to ensure the provision of safe and mechanically sound GSE equipment and facilities.
Responsibilities
- Comply with and ensure accountability for company policies and procedures related to GSE standards, safety, and security.
- Establish, implement, and maintain a preventative maintenance schedule for the site’s fleet of ground service equipment and fuel farm.
- Perform repairs on downed equipment.
- Maintain stock of necessary parts and fluids following guidance from the Operations Manager and General Manager.
- Oversee the QC program in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Perform facility maintenance as needed.
- Maintain parts and tools inventories.
- Promote a culture of first-class customer service and safety through daily observations, shift briefings, routine audits, usage of Baldwin SMS, monthly service/safety meetings, training, and documented service/safety procedures.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal customers and business partners.
- Perform additional duties as directed by the Operations Manager or General Manager.
Essential Skills.
- Diesel engine troubleshooting and maintenance expertise.
- Electrical diagnostics, including wiring, schematics, and component testing.
- Proven ability to operate a variety of aircraft ground support equipment such as tugs, tow bars, GPUs, air starts, floor machines, belt loaders, LAV carts, and forklifts.
- Three years of progressive management experience, including maintenance of FBO equipment.
- Preventative maintenance on powered and non-powered GSE
- Hands-on mechanical experience (aviation, diesel, heavy equipment, or military)
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- FBO/aviation experience.
- Welding or fabrication capability

Work Environment
The position requires international travel for extended periods, sometimes under austere and sub-standard living conditions. Work may involve extended and irregular hours in various environmental conditions, including extreme temperatures, high elevations, and dusty conditions. The role demands the physical ability to routinely lift 75lbs, fit in tight spaces, bend, kneel, stoop, crawl, climb frequently, lift objects above the head, and pull a 170lb load over 50 feet. Domestic travel for events, training, and symposiums is also expected. The position operates primarily on the first shift with a travel requirement of 35 to 50

Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.25 - $27.88/hr.
