Job Summary:

Support the calibration recall system to assure conformance to company and ISO/AS9100 standards as well as providing Pyrometry support to the Heat Treat Processes.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain calibration recall system to full compliance with company standards, ISO / AS9100, and customer requirements.
• Coordinate calibration activities with both internal and external supplies and customers.
• Able to perform and document internal calibration of gauges as needed.
• Notifies leader or supervisor when calibration data exceeds acceptable limits or when incidents of poor quality are noted.
• Coordinates and supports production with calibration activities and actively involves production employees to assure they are always supplied calibrated gauges.
• Able to build and set gages per the blueprint/ operation sheets.
• Manages the flow of gauges through the inspection department.
• Ability to read prints and understand GD&T.
• Ability to read analog tools.
• Support the creation and maintenance of calibration / pyrometry procedures.
• Able to manage gauge tracking systems (Gagetrak experience is a plus).
• Observes company processes and makes recommendations for improvement.
• Order thermocouples and maintain inventory, review CofC’s for compliance and enter applicable info into database as well as thermocouple change over.
• Maintain inventory for Heat Treat consumables meeting the AMS2750 requirements.
• Pyrometry: Perform SAT / Alt Sat, Calibration on TUS.
• Participates in Lean Projects, 5S and SDWT.
• Maintains adherence to company policies, environmental and safety standards, and good housekeeping standards.
• Support internal audits as well as participate in third party and customer audits.
• Establish and maintain records of inspection and calibration of measuring equipment.
• Perform inspection / calibration in accordance with procedures.
• Perform general maintenance and repairs on measuring equipment as required.
• Enter and maintain computer files on gage inventory and recall periods.
• Coordinate calibration quotes with certified outside lab.
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge and Training:
• Experience with metrology and pyrometry is highly recommended.
• ASQ Certified Calibration Technician or military technical training preferred.
• Active knowledge of ISO9001 / AS9100 requirements concerning calibration and customer specifications.
• Experience with AMS2750, ANSI Z2540.1, ISO10012, and ISO17025.
• Experience with AS9100 or ISO90001 preferred.
• Analytical capabilities to interpret detailed and complex drawings.
• Document control experience.
• Gagetrak or other calibration software experience.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Math, Geometry and Statistics knowledge / ability preferred.
• Must have experience reading gauges: Calipers, Dial Indicators, Micrometers, Digital Indicators, Height Gauges – digital and analog.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of discrete variables.

Working Conditions:

• Constant exposure to indoor manufacturing environment.
• Constant exposure to moderate noise. Must be able to work with and around forklifts and hazardous machinery.
• Must be able to wear all the required Personal Protective Equipment.
• Working conditions may include small spaces, dust, fumes/odors, and hot/cold temperatures, inside/outside noise, vibration, standing on concrete for long hours and wet or uneven surfaces.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to thirty-five (35) pounds on a repetitive basis.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, squat climb, kneel, twist and work at heights on an intermittent basis for twelve hours a day.
• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and sit throughout the day.
• Manual dexterity to work with small hand tools and equipment.
• Must be able to work around forklifts and other machinery.

Additional Requirements:

• Computer literate with ability to manage multiple databases, data entry skills and ability to search and pull-down data.
• Prior experience in quality assurance or product release desired.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good time management skills.
