Position: Gauge Technician
Reports To: Head of QA Operations
Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Shift: 1st Shift: Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM
Pay Range: $24-$28 per hour
BASIC WORKER FUNCTION:
The Gauge Technician is responsible for calibrating, maintaining, and verifying measurement and testing equipment to ensure accuracy, reliability, and compliance with company and industry standards. This role supports quality operations by maintaining calibration systems, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring proper documentation of calibration activities.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF
TASKS:
- Perform calibration and maintenance on measurement and testing equipment.
- Ensure tools and gauges meet company and industry quality standards.
- Document calibration results, adjustments, and repair information accurately.
- Maintain calibration schedules and organized equipment records.
- Troubleshoot and help resolve issues with gauges and calibration equipment.
- Work closely with Quality and Engineering teams to support calibration programs and continuous improvement efforts.
- Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work instructions.
- Assist during audits by providing calibration records and documentation.
- Monitor equipment performance and report issues when needed.
- Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Strong understanding of calibration practices and quality standards.
- Experience using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, multimeters, and torque wrenches.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Basic computer skills for data entry and reporting.
- Familiarity with ISO quality systems is a plus.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 2 years of experience calibrating measurement and testing equipment required.
- Associate degree in a technical field or equivalent experience preferred.
- Calibration certification preferred.
- Experience in manufacturing, aerospace, or quality environments preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Frequent use of hands for detailed measuring and calibration tasks.
- Ability to clearly read measurements, instruments, and technical documents.
