Job Purpose
As a GSE Officer you will perform Ground Support Equipment (GSE) operational support functions related to direct/indirect aircraft maintenance activities ensuring strict compliance to standard procedures and legal aspects. This includes activities regarding Ground Support Equipment maintenance, resource & leave planning, training, licensing including health & safety related responsibilities.
In this role you will:
Generic
- Plan equipment & vehicle major maintenance activities. Compile & submit estimates to ensure that all high-cost implicating tasks are channelled through formal approval by GSE Manager prior to commencement.
- Coordinate & liaise with concerned departments within Engineering & outside including third parties to ensure effective support facilitation and service delivery to aircraft maintenance activities directly or indirectly.
- Ensure that allocations & tasks are evaluated & processed considering requirements and appropriate fulfilments in order to help maintain best practice standards and regulatory compliance.
- Ensure that records related to all functions performed by GSE are captured, compiled and processed accurately and in appropriate QA-forms.
- Generate reports regarding various categories of maintenance activities, aircraft support events, outstation deployments and transactions related to third party support including those for training & licensing projects.
Duty Officer
- Plan & deliver aircraft maintenance support functions considering application & status of the equipment, priorities & constraints to ensure that all scheduled & unscheduled aircraft maintenance activities are backed up efficiently and in professional manner.
- Organise resources & requirements of aircraft component handling including aircraft engine logistics support for all Emirates and third-party customers. Effective liaison with stakeholders regarding technical procedures and asset status is key to ensure smooth accomplishment & prevention of disruptions.
- Job holder is responsible to organize outstation coverage for AOG (Aircraft on ground) support operations. Monitor and control GSE resource preparations for aircraft rescue at outstation while ensuring minimal disruptions to base station operations. Ensure equipment and resources are thoroughly assessed prior to despatch and GSE team is briefed and prepared for outstation deployment.
- Organise GSE equipment/support deployment during aircraft crash recovery situations. Prepare recovery team site schedule during aircraft recoveries meanwhile ensuring minimal disruptions to GSE support operations at base station.
- Initiate job rotation and cross utilization of staff. Regularly review and identify areas requiring improvements. Recommend amendments in work practices to improve productivity and efficiency in operational support to aircraft maintenance.
Liaison Officer
- Ensure scheduled maintenance tasks for GSE vehicles are executed without delays. Communicate deviations in schedules and proposals for re-planning in the most effective manner. This also include close coordination with GSE Planning for possible amendments in order to help reduce its impact on GSE operations.
- Ensure that unscheduled events in equipment breakdowns are addressed on time for immediate possible action in order to help reduce equipment downtime as low as possible. Discuss priorities in the event of multiple equipment failure situations.
- The job holder is responsible to support GSE operations with regards to developing plans for proper housekeeping to help reduce/contain risk of accidents/non-conformities. This requires conducting regular inspection and communicate findings to concerned units. Communicate & liaise with concerned sections (GSE & other departments) for achieving required results. This, also include proper handling, disposal & control of hazardous & non-hazardous waste material.
- Liaise with GSE units to prepare consolidated staff Annual Leave plan. This includes preliminary requests, priorities based on historical records & data.
- Ensure GSE workshop is in line with quality and safety practices. This includes proper spanings, labelling etc where applicable. Ensure MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) of all materials used by GSE are made available to where applicable in order to help improve awareness, familiarization and prevention against possible health & safety risks.
QualificationTo be considered for the role you must meet the following requirements:
- 12 Years schooling or equivalent
- 5+ Years of experience in Engineering
- Experience in supervisory position in Ground Support Equipment operations and maintenance.
- Strong leadership skills to direct and monitor assignments
- Ability to organise and coordinate aircraft maintenance support projects in a professional manner Thorough knowledge of operational support standards, procedures and practices Strong knowledge of GSE resources, functions, and allocation preferences
- Valid UAE Driving Licence
