Job Summary:
Under direct supervision, level one heat treat operators load and unload baskets for heat treat prep. As well as unload baskets post heat treat. They will also update data production logs, and update MRP/ERP. Demonstrate the ability to correctly interpret work orders to verify raw material lot control number, basic print reading to verify part identification.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees heat treatment of open and closed die forgings, in house conversions of ingots, billets, and rolled rings, with minimal supervision
- Possesses thorough understanding of controlling and monitoring all heat treat furnaces as well as their limits and capabilities
- Prepares furnace loads, dependent upon material type and quantity allowable in furnace
- Verifies piece count and straightness and flatness of parts before and after material is heat treated
- Performs cold and hot straightening if necessary
- Conducts hardness inspection of material
- Oversees furnace light up and monitoring
- Operate a forklift and safely load and unload materials
- Perform visual inspections for part defects or damage
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED preferred but not required.
- Relevant certificate of completion from a technical school preferred but not required.
- Experience in manufacturing industry is highly preferred but not required.
- 1+ years of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
