Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Install, maintain, and repair industrial electrical systems, including motors, drives, PLCs, and control circuits.
- Diagnose and resolve electrical issues on production equipment, cranes, conveyors, and automated systems.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Equipment & System Support
- Work with high-voltage and low-voltage systems in a heavy industrial environment.
- Calibrate, test, and maintain instrumentation, sensors, and control devices.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, system modifications, and new installations.
- Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to support production goals.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all U.S. Steel safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and OSHA regulations.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in accordance with company and industry standards.
- Participate in safety audits, training programs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ensure all work is performed with a strong commitment to quality, safety, and environmental stewardship.

Work Schedule:

Qualifications
- Minimum 5–7 years of industrial electrical experience in manufacturing, steel, energy, or heavy industry
- Strong knowledge of AC/DC motors, drives, PLCs, and industrial control systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
- Experience with troubleshooting high-voltage and low-voltage systems
- Strong understanding of NFPA 70E, electrical safety practices, and lockout/tagout procedures
- Effective communication skills and ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
- Ability to work overtime, including weekends and holidays
- Comfortable working in a steel mill environment with heat, noise, and varying temperatures
- Basic computer skills for maintenance documentation and system interfaces
