Position Overview:

Inspect, maintain, disassemble, repair, test, install, align, and other technical and maintenance operations associated with a wide variety of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment including, but not limited to, lathes, boring machines, milling machines, hydraulic presses, routers, drill presses, pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, motors and furnaces to manufacturer’s specifications using hand and power tools.

What You Will Do:
  • Inspect, maintain, disassemble, repair, test, install, align, and other technical and maintenance operations associated with a wide variety of industrial machinery and mechanical equipment including, but not limited to, lathes, boring machines, milling machines, hydraulic presses, routers, drill presses, pumps, fans, tanks, conveyors, motors and furnaces to manufacturer’s specifications using hand and power tools.
  • Inspect and examine machinery/equipment to detect irregularities and malfunctions.  Troubleshoot any anomalies noted, identify and implement corrective actions to restore machinery/equipment to operating condition.
  • Carry out planned and preventative maintenance on Company owned machines and equipment.
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations on the procurement of tooling and equipment.
  • Operate machine tools such as lathes, grinders and milling machines to manufacture parts for repair of machinery and equipment or to verify proper operation of machines or equipment.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Maintain technical records of work completed, maintain a clean work environment and comply with all applicable safety policies and regulations
  • Provide on-the-job-training to other personnel in the Millwright trade.
  • Provide assistance with plant maintenance functions as required.
  • Attend upgrading training for trade or personal development.
What You Will Bring:
  • Licensed Industrial Millwright.
  • A minimum of three years in an Industrial Millwright role.
  • “Hands on” position that can be physically demanding at times and involves lifting and carrying heavy tools and equipment.
  • Trouble shooting, diagnosing and rectifying functional problems in hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical equipment.
  • Knowledge of and experience with the tools, equipment, and materials common to the Millwright trade
  • This position is required to hold an Airside Vehicle Operators Permit (AVOP) and as such must hold a valid driving license and must pass the HIA airfield driving permit tests.
  • This position is required to hold a valid fork lift operator permit and to operate a fork lift during the course of their duties.
  • Demonstrate a personal commitment to IMP Occupational Health, Safety and Environment policies, continually focusing on your individual safety and the safety of others who may be affected by your work and to fully comply with all Federal Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Participate in Continuous Improvement, Lean & 8S activities in your area
  • Must be eligible to meet requirements for Canadian Controlled Goods Program (CGP),  Secret Level II Security Clearance through PSPC- Contract Security Program, and  Transport Canada RAIC clearance.
