Job Title: Sewing Technician

Job Description

This position requires expertise in operating industrial sewing machines, including Straight Stitch (single and double needle), Walking Foot, Bartack, Buttonhole, and 3 Thread Rolled Hem Serger. The candidate will undergo safety and operational training and must be able to interpret soft-goods fabrication and assembly drawings. Proficiency in creating soft-goods patterns is essential.

Responsibilities

• Sew materials by hand and/or sewing machine to join, gather, reinforce, or decorate materials or fabricated articles.
• Cut materials according to specifications or trim excess material or thread from finished products using a blade, scissors, or electric knife.
• Examine and measure finished articles to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Monitor machine operation to detect problems like defective stitching or machine malfunctions.
• Mount attachments and adjust machine guides as per specifications.
• Thread machines and position materials for sewing operations.
• Remove finished materials from the sewing machine, replace needles, and maintain equipment cleanliness and functionality.
• Record material processing in production logs.
• Ensure product quality and accuracy in accordance with fabrication instructions and drawings.

Essential Skills

• Proficient use and operation of industrial sewing machines.
• Ability to read and interpret soft-goods fabrication and assembly drawings.
• Expertise in fabricating soft-goods patterns.
• Ability to sew materials to tight tolerances.
• Proficiency in cutting materials to precise specifications.
• Experience in monitoring machine operations to detect issues.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 5+ years of industrial sewing experience.
• High School Diploma.
• Experience in the aerospace industry is a plus.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Webster, TX.

The pay range for this position is $26.54 - $34.01/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Webster,TX.
