Provide Quality Control Inspection in a Chemistry Lab setting support for Honeywell Performance Materials and Technology while partnering with manufacturing teams and leaders. You will ensure that quality is being maintained in all factors involved in production. Responsible for all activities involving quality assurance and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Perform product inspection and/or audits of quality control programs.
Be part of the Quality Control team that provides their expertise and ensures that the customer receives products that meet their expectations. Drive continuous improvements in support of Honeywell Quality Control Inspection and Honeywell Operating System.

Recommend and implement improvements that help deliver the best timely solutions resulting in the highest level of customer satisfaction.

Key responsibilities include:
 

  • Conforms to all safety policies and procedures.
  • Performs chemical tests and analysis on process and finished product samples following established laboratory methods and procedures.
  • Performs QA checks on incoming raw material. Processes COAs for incoming raw materials, finished products and down packing customers.
  • Analyzes process waters (pond, DI & scrubber) , cooling towers, and boiler feed water, boiler water, Processed treated waters from proper chemical treatment.
  • Analyzes process and product samples as required.
  • Performs quality assurance and quality control testing and analyses as required to ensure the accuracy and reliability of analytical results.
  • Prepares reagents, solutions, and standards as required.
  • Performs calibration and maintenance of laboratory instrumentation as necessary to assure proper performance.
  • Monitors and maintains laboratory supply and chemical inventory to assure effective laboratory operation. Replenishes levels at the end of shifts.
  • Assists in the maintenance of ISO 9001.
  • Provides technical support and performs special assignments to support the Lab, Production, Engineering, and other Laboratory Customers.
  • Assembles laboratory reports; maintains notes on progress of analytical testing; reports analytical observations and findings without deviation; and informs laboratory customers of variances from standards immediately.
  • Provides First Aid on off-hours and as needed. Meets all requirements of a Medical First Responder.
  • Observes plant and laboratory safety rules and regulations at all times.
  • Assists in training of laboratory personnel (OJT) and provides work direction as required.
  • Ability to lift 25lbs occasionally 
  • Assists in laboratory continuous improvement efforts (i.e., process improvement, variation reduction, cycle time reduction, cost reduction). 
  • Ability to work rotating shifts including weekends and holidays
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.

YOU MUST HAVE
  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Bachelors degree in science or chemistry
  • 14 hours college science
  • Experience in quality testing
  • Effective written and verbal communication
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office
  • Good analytical and creative problem solving skills
  • Ability to obtain TWIC Card
  • Ability to use tools and techniques to perform tests
  • Ability to read technical data and specifications
  • Preferred experience with GC, IC, ICP, Karl Fisher, or general wet chemistry skills including titrations.
