We have exciting opportunities for 30 highly experienced full-time permanent Structural AME&39;s (NOC Code 7315) in Kelowna, BC. Structural AME’s perform line and heavy maintenance as well as repairs and modifications. In this role you can be working on interior modifications, cargo door installations, winglet installations, cargo conversions airtanker conversions, and other interesting projects on a wide variety of aircraft.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Structural AME’s are expected to be able to demonstrate a high level of technical proficiency and perform the following functions:

 

Technical

  • Inspection and completing repairs of aircraft structures in accordance with Service Bulletins (SB), Airworthiness Directives (AD), Aircraft Manuals and Engineering drawings
  • Inspection and assessment of corrosion and damage to aircraft structures
  • Design and layout repairs according to the Structural Repair Manual (SRM) 
  • Construction and set up of jigs and fixtures
  • Sealant of metal and composite surfaces
  • Installation of fasteners
  • Treatment of metals and corrosion
  • Assembly and fitting of parts
  • Repair, replace, and modify metal alloy and composite structures
  • Fabrication of sheet metal parts
  • Ability to source and use correct composite materials for bonding a fastener or simple repair
  • Understanding of aircraft fastener codes and uses/installations
  • Source appropriate calibrated tooling for the jobs

Documentation & Administration

  • Ensures appropriate documentation is completed accurately and on time and submitted to a senior Technician or Shift Lead for ACA approval
  • Sources required technical information in maintenance manuals
  • Ability to complete ERP processes and procedures correctly

Safety

          Applying safe work practices in all job duties, including:

  • Wearing all appropriate PPE (personal protective equipment)
  • Understanding and applying the Risk Management System
  • Understanding and applying Health & Safety Policies
  • Maintaining good housekeeping and cleanliness standards
  • Understanding and applying safe handling practices with the aircraft

REQUIREMENTS

Certification & Experience

  • Transport Canada Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (Structures) License and minimum 5 years’ experience performing maintenance and/or modifications on commercial aircraft, including large Boeing Aircraft; or
  • Equivalent license from foreign country (would be considered unlicensed in Canada) and minimum 7 years of experience performing maintenance and/or modifications on commercial aircraft, including large Boeing Aircraft; or
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience performing maintenance and/or modifications on commercial aircraft, including large Boeing Aircraft.

  • Ability to learn and understand KF organizational systems and workflow
  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
  • Good oral and written communication skills
  • Able to effectively train apprentices
  • Ability to accept constructive criticism
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Intranet
  • Willing to pursue additional company training as required

Other

  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Flexibility to work any type of shift rotation
  • Work is conducted in English

LAUNCH YOUR CAREER

Transport Canada Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers (with at least 5 years of experience once licensed) earn an hourly wage starting at $37.68 up to $41.62. In addition, there is room to grow into Senior AME and Shift Lead roles.

 

Unlicensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers with 10 years of relevant experience OR a foreign license and 7 years of relevant experience earn an hourly wage of $35.14. This is the highest wage level for unlicensed AMEs.

 

KF will support Unlicensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to achieve Transport Canada licensing.
