Lounge Host - Wellington

Air New Zealand •
Wellington, England, United Kingdom
Position Type: Permanent
Job Description:

Kia ora!

Air New Zealand at Wellington Airport currently have part time permanent Lounge Host opportunities available starting in the New Year.

With state-of-the-art facilities to wow our customers, we need an inspired and passionate team to complete the picture providing world class hospitality, care and attention.

About the Role:

Our Lounge Hosts are the welcoming face and helping hand for our customers, and work alongside colleagues and contractors to deliver a seamless customer experience. You will be standing at the entrance or service desk within the Lounge, welcoming our Lounge customers, answering queries, or assisting with requests prior to their departure. Youll be the first point of contact for our Lounge customers during a disrupt, and will get to know our regular customers, building connections and making their visit memorable. Lounge Hosts work as one team across the airport terminals so you could be spending one day at International and another at Domestic or Regional depending on your shift.

Shift Work:

The Lounge Host role is permanent, part time (average 40-60 hours per fortnight), including weekends, weekdays, and public holidays. Flexibility to work across the various hours is essential as your earliest start could be 0445 or your latest finish 0100, and your hours will be different each day as set on the roster for that week.

What we are looking for:

In this front-line role you will need to excel under pressure, resolve customer issues with a smile, and bring personality and warmth to the Lounge experience for our customers.

We are looking for people who set high standards for their own performance, including immaculate grooming, flexibility to handle challenges, enthusiasm, and commitment to our customers. The airport environment is fast paced and dynamic, requiring you to be technically savvy, resilient, and ready for action every day you come to work.  You will be highly organised with a good level of communication, decision making skills, and initiative.

Essential Requirements:

  • Eligible to work permanently in New Zealand at the time of applying
  • Minimum Restricted or Full New Zealand Driver Licence with reliable transport
  • Minimum 12 months experience in a customer facing role (with some experience in travel & tourism, hospitality, or VIP hosting environments preferred)
  • Compliance with the Air New Zealand Uniform Standards (you will be asked to declare Body Art and we will advise if this complies)
  • Available for the full range of shift workdays and hours

Applications

Please submit your application online via the Air New Zealand careers site. Please include an up to date CV and Cover Letter. We will look to be in contact with you.
