As a Maritime Welder, your expertise in Flux Core Arc Welding will be put to the test as you perform with precision and efficiency on river maritime vessels and barges. All candidates will need to successfully complete required welding / shipfitting tests to meet quality standards.
Additional responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
Align and fit parts according to specifications.
Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units, following blueprints.
Set up and operate fabricating machines, such as brakes, rolls, shears, cutting torches, grinders, and drill presses, to bend, cut, form, punch, drill, or otherwise form and assemble metal components.
Lay out and examine metal stock or work pieces to be processed to ensure that specifications are met.
Tack-weld fitted parts together.
What Do We Want to Know About You? Were looking for candidates who possess:
High school degree or equivalent.
1+ years welding experience.
Ability to read and understand blueprints along with 3D prints/schematic
Physically able to lift 50 pounds – inclusive of walking/climbing stairs
Comfortable working in smaller/enclosed spaces within the ship

Pay Details: $20.00 to $25.00 per hour
