Morson Talent are looking for Network Technician to work on an exciting UAV project with travel overseas! You&8217;ll be at the forefront of High Altitude Long Endurance UAV technology with the chance to work in Kenya.

Job Profile
Network Technician – Ground Control System
The Zephyr Operations team are responsible for the design, build, operation and maintenance of the aircraft and Ground Communication System throughout its entire lifecycle.

Tasks and Accountabilities
Outline Job Profile:
To support the Ground Control System Manager to enable the development and maintenance of the Ground Control Station. The job involves the analysis of requirements generated by the system engineers and flight crew assisting in the production of designs for the hardware and interfaces the integration of the hardware formal testing, configuration and maintenance following a controlled design

Essential skills
You should have the following skills and background: -

• Communications background
• 5 years + working knowledge of IP and Networking in Juniper environment (JUNOS)
• A clear understanding of System design and integration
• A clear understanding of RF and satellite systems
• Previous experience within a Design / Maintenance Approved Organisational Scheme
• F?Gas Refrigeration regulations
• Electrical Safety (BS7671)
• Ability to understand and maintain detailed design documentation, and follow process.
• You must have excellent analytical, interpersonal, verbal and written communications skills and be methodical in your approach.

Highly Desirable skills
• Mechanical Engineering
• Previous experience with mission-critical systems
• Previous experience with Design Assurance Levels
• Experience of Unmanned Aerial Systems
• Understanding of frequency clearance
• Experience of extended overseas operations

Working Pattern

For UK work – standard day shift approx. 37 hours per week in office hours 9-5 Mon-Fri, with flexible working.
Initial training onsite Farnborough circa 8 weeks when tasks are allocated (developing documents, conducting research, study at home etc) then this is at the discretion of the contractor.

Off-site work required. Some office work onsite, remote working from Airbus supplied IT equipment at home and travel to flight trials locations up to 50 of the time.

Expectation of 8-week deployments with approx. 6 weeks between deployments, probably 2 -3 deployments in 2023 and some daytime visits to UK test flying sites as required.

Clearance

The successful candidate will be required to apply for and receive a basic disclosure certificate prior to commencement of the contract.

The cost of the application is only recoverable from the client once the contractor has started and that recovery of costs is via the expense process.

The successful candidate will be required to pass BPSS security clearance before confirmation of contract offer.

A CEST assessment has been carried out for this role and it has been deemed Inside Scope of IR35

Candidates will only be considered on a PAYE basis.
