We are seeking Baggage System Attendants for the purpose of clearing baggage jams and fault’s as well as monitoring BHS and airline baggage operations. Duties may include entering the baggage system to free baggage jams maintain the cleanliness of the immediate work area and bag room as required. Attendants are responsible for the operation of the belt system. Must ensure proper spacing of bags and monitor the buildup of bags on the carousels. Must ensure that the bags are aligned as required and/or immediately clear any resulting jams.  Attendants are responsible for the manual movement of baggage in the event of a system outage.  Attendants will be responsible for providing customer service while directing, handling passenger baggage, and ensuring that customer baggage is directed to the appropriate locations from stations in the Airport bag room.

• Clear bag jams by physically re-arranging baggage and respond to trouble calls in the Baggage Handling System
• Maintaining cleanliness of system, providing cleaning including but not limited to sweeping, housekeeping, collecting trash, cleaning dust and debris and general housekeeping of area around system
• Demonstrate good mechanical aptitude and comprehensive skills
• Monitor the BHS system from Control room as needed
• Follow instructions from control room operators, technicians and supervisors on maintenance needs
• Exercise safe working practices at all times, demonstrating and complying with all Company safety policies, including but not limited to personal protection equipment, following Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures.

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High-school diploma or GED 
• Valid driver’s license
• Must be able to  work a flexible schedule accommodating to a 24/7 operation including nights, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Background check and drug screen required
• Must be able to attain and sustain an Airport I.D. Badge

• Experience with Baggage Handling Systems or Airport Operations

• Employees work in the assured management areas of baggage, at repair stations, or at airfields and often must meet strict deadlines to maintain flight schedules.
• Employees will be working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts, and vibration.
• Employees may be exposed to various noise levels due to aircraft engines and equipment.
• Employees bend, lean, and frequently reach ladders and scaffolding. 
• Employees are required to regularly speak and hear.
• Employees are often required to reach with their hands and arms.
• Employees may be required to perform a variety of activities that could include standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crawling, and climbing throughout their day. 
• Employees frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds with the help of teammates.
• Employees will lift parts and tools for long periods of time and handle equipment such as transportation systems.
• Employees will be working with and exposed to the baggage handling system, mechanical parts, and vibration.
• Employees may be exposed to various noise levels due to aircraft engines and equipment.
