Position SummaryThis position is established to support efficient and seamless cargo operations through the effective management, handling, storage, and monitoring of Unit Load Devices (ULDs) and related operational materials for both inbound and outbound shipments. The role is responsible for ensuring the availability, proper utilization, and timely movement of ULDs to support operational requirements, minimize delays, and maintain service efficiency in accordance with operational and safety standards.
Key Accountabilities- Manage and coordinate the movement, tracking, and control of all inbound and outbound Unit Load Devices (ULDs) to ensure smooth and efficient cargo operations.
- Ensure all ULDs are properly stored, organized, and maintained at their designated storage locations in compliance with operational and safety requirements.
- Identify, report, and monitor damaged or unserviceable ULDs, while coordinating with the relevant parties for corrective actions, repairs, or replacements.
- Monitor and maintain daily ULD inventory levels to ensure sufficient stock availability in meeting Penang station’s operational and service requirements.
- Coordinate and arrange urgent ULD replenishment from KUL or other stations during shortages to avoid operational disruptions and flight delays.
- Prepare, update, record, and maintain accurate filing of all operational documentation, including LUC, SCM, and UCM records, for audit and tracking purposes.
- Monitor ULD utilization and apply demurrage charges for ULDs that exceed the approved storage or free-time period in accordance with company procedures.
- Conduct routine inspections to ensure all ULDs issued for operational use are in good working condition, safe, and compliant with operational standards.
- Maintain sufficient stock levels of cargo operational materials such as plastic wraps, cargo nets, shrink wrap, brown lines, and stud rings to support daily operational activities.
- Provide timely updates and regular communication to airlines regarding the status, movement, and utilization of their respective ULDs to ensure effective coordination and service delivery
Qualifications - Minimum in SPM/SPMV/DVM or Diploma or bachelor’s degree qualification in Logistics, Transportation, Aviation Management, Supply Chain, Business Administration, or any related field
- Minimum 1–3 years of working experience in cargo operations, warehouse operations, logistics, airline ground handling, or related operational environments.
- Fresh graduates with relevant internship or operational exposure may also be considered
Areas of Experience- Knowledge and understanding of Unit Load Device (ULD) handling, cargo operations processes, and warehouse inventory control will be an added advantage.
- Good understanding of operational safety standards, cargo handling procedures, and documentation requirements.
Personality Traits- Good organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer knowledge, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and email.
- Able to work on shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
- Physically fit to support operational and warehouse activities.
- Able to communicate well in English and Bahasa Malaysia
