Job Description:

The On-the-Job Trainer (OJT) in Calgary AB plays a key role in bridging the gap between classroom instruction and workplace performance. This role focuses on providing hands-on coaching, mentoring, and skill assessment to post-graduate trainees within Operations. The OJT ensures that trainees can apply their knowledge effectively in real-world production environments and are fully prepared for job-readiness on the floor.Key ResponsibilitiesMentorship & Coaching: Guide trainees through daily operational tasks, offering hands-on instruction and individualized coaching to reinforce learning.Skill Demonstration: Demonstrate operational procedures and best practices directly on the production floor, ensuring trainees can replicate tasks safely and accurately.Performance Observation & Feedback: Conduct real-time assessments of trainee performance; provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement.Competency Tracking: Maintain accurate documentation of trainee progress, skill sign-offs, and OJT records in alignment with program standards.Program Improvement: Collaborate with training and operations teams to identify opportunities for curriculum enhancement and improved training delivery methods.Safety & Compliance: Reinforce workplace safety procedures and ensure all OJT activities adhere to operational standards and company policies.Required QualificationsAssociate or bachelor’s degree in aviation technology or engineering, Advanced diploma in Aviation technology.Aircraft Maintenance Technician.Aircraft Maintenance Engineer5+ years of experience in manufacturing training, preferably in the aerospace industry.Excellent communication, observation, and interpersonal skills.Strong organizational and documentation abilities.Key Strengths & AttributesHands-On Trainer: Skilled in practical, applied training rather than theoretical instruction.Real-Time Feedback: Provides immediate, actionable feedback to improve trainee performance.Continuous Improvement Mindset: Identifies gaps in training effectiveness and contributes to program enhancements.
