Position: PLC Technician
We are seeking a highly skilled PLC Technician with 5+ years of PLC programming, AC/DC motor control, hydraulic system control, and industrial automation experience. This role supports advanced DC motor controls and hydraulic control systems across a wide range of large high‑energy forging equipment, forge furnaces, and other production machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Uptime & PLC Automation
- Support equipment uptime and quick return‑to‑service by responding to equipment breakdowns and assisting maintenance teams with troubleshooting forging equipment.
- Serve as the on‑site subject matter expert for PLC controls and power distribution systems.
- Program, modify, and optimize industrial control systems, including:
- Troubleshoot and develop ladder logic, structured text, and function block programs to support safe and efficient equipment operation.
- Document program changes, maintain revision control, and ensure regular system backups.
Electrical Distribution & Motor Control Systems
- Repair, maintain, and install industrial electrical systems, including:
- Troubleshoot complex electrical and automation issues using:
Hydraulic Controls & Systems
- Troubleshoot, program, and maintain Oilgear and Rexroth hydraulic control systems, including:
- Diagnose mechanical and electro‑hydraulic issues using PLC trending, oscillograms, and real‑time monitoring tools.
- Work collaboratively with maintenance and engineering teams to ensure hydraulic system reliability and performance.
Preventive Maintenance & Reliability
- Perform preventive maintenance on forging equipment and automated systems related to PLC and electrical controls.
- Recommend improvements to enhance equipment uptime, reliability, and operational safety.
- Support root‑cause analysis investigations for recurring electrical, hydraulic, or automation failures.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow NEC regulations for electrical systems ranging from 24V to 4160V.
- Adhere to all facility safety programs and requirements, including:
- Maintain clean, organized work areas and ensure proper documentation in compliance with PCC standards.
Job Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in hydraulic equipment automation, PLC programming, and electrical/hydraulic troubleshooting.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical certifications or trade school training preferred.
- Strong hands‑on experience with:
- 1st shift position, with overtime as needed.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Experience with forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts is a plus.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams.
- Proven ability to maintain accurate documentation and a clean, organized workstation.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $38.25 to $57.25 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company’s Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company’s bonus multiple, based on the Company’s performance in the applicable quarter. Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays.
