PLC Technician
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled DCS Technician to join our team, responsible for installing and maintaining complex electrical and instrumentation systems. The ideal candidate will be adept at troubleshooting and collaborating with engineering teams to ensure smooth operations and support the advancement of our cutting-edge projects.
Responsibilities
- Install and terminate wiring for pad instrumentation and data acquisition systems.
- Install connectors, connector pins, terminals, and lugs.
- Perform continuity checks and correct wiring errors using ohmmeters and voltage calibrators.
- Support fellow technicians and engineering employees with shop assembly equipment and hand tools.
- Collaborate with design engineers to troubleshoot failures and issues from test data.
- Write, create, and organize work planning documents and instructions.
- Generate purchase orders from vendor quotes.
- Lead complex projects independently with minimal oversight.
- Install and modify electrical conveyances, including conduit and cable trays.
- Build intricate cable assemblies using Mil-C connectors and contacts.
- Troubleshoot AC power distribution equipment up to 480VAC.
- Build and terminate power equipment up to 480VAC.
- Build, terminate, troubleshoot, and maintain PLC-based manufacturing hardware.
- Fabricate support structures and enclosures for electrical distribution equipment.
Essential Skills
- High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
- 1+ years of professional experience with instrumentation such as transducers, accelerometers, or thermocouples.
- Familiarity with analog and digital electrical systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical components both onsite and offsite.
- Experience with sensors, mili-amps, cable pulls, terminations, and conduit laying for new instrumentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Associate degree in Aerospace Technology or related technical field (preferred).
- 2+ years of professional hands-on experience with launch site instrumentation.
- Experience with ISO 9000, IPC-620, and ICP-610 standards.
- Quality inspection experience with harnessing and cables.
- Understanding of basic direct current electrical theory.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to design and fabricate simple electrical circuits.
- Experience with various PLC programming including NI, Step 7, and Studio 5000.
- Proficient with power tools and hand tools.

Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Atlanta, GA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $33.00 - $38.00/hr.
