Performance Load Test Analyst

Job Description:

DPP is seeking a Performance Load Test Analyst for an opportunity in Columbia, SC.

Work arrangements:

Fully onsite in Columbia, SC
W2 position; 6 months, with the possibility of FTE
Candidates who are foreign nationals must have resided in the US for at least three (3) of the last five (5) years prior to assignment to the client’s applicable government contract.
Must be able to obtain CMS Security Clearance

Position summary:

A typical day for a Performance Load Test Analyst on the CBIC team involves planning and executing test cases for the Connexion portal and other CBIC Client-hosted applications within the Client’s Cloud (built on AWS). Their testing will empower development and QA teams by simulating real-world usage, uncover performance issues, and ensure scalable, reliable applications in modern cloud environments.
The Analyst uses TestRail to manage test plans, track execution, and document results, while Jira is used to log defects and align testing tasks with Agile sprints.
They collaborate with developers and business analysts in daily stand-ups, using Confluence to maintain test documentation, user stories, and release notes.
The role also includes validating application behavior in cloud environments, supporting compliance testing, and ensuring that all updates meet CMS security and performance standards before deployment.
In addition, they complete supportive administrative and lead activities related to cloud testing and collect and analyze data for software process evaluation and continuous improvement.
Their work is essential to maintaining the quality, reliability, and compliance of cloud-based healthcare applications.

Required technologies:

Cloud-hosted application(s) testing experience
Design, develop and execute test strategies, test cases, and automate scripts using testing tools or platforms like Apache JMeter, BlazeMeter, LoadRunner Cloud, Selenium WebDriver, Selenium Grid, JUnit, TestNG, SoapUI, Postman and Insomnia.
Solid understanding of key performance indicators, metrics and types of testing.
Knowledge of performance monitoring tools
Identify, track, and manage bugs using TestRail, Jira/Confluence, or ALM.
Understanding of AWS CloudWatch Synthetics
Strong knowledge of lift-and-shift, re-platforming, or cloud migration testing.
Strong knowledge of REST/SOAP API testing, SQL, and test automation frameworks.
Implement automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub, AWS CodePipeline)
AWS Services – EC2, IAM, S3, RDS/Aurora, Lambda, API Gateway, CloudWatch, CloudTrail, CodeBuild

Nice to have:

Understanding DevOps practices and helps in managing cloud-based analytics pipelines and deployments.
Experience with GitHub Actions, version control, automated testing, and deployment of workflows.
AWS Services – DynamoDB, SNS, SQS, Step Functions, Artifact

Minimum required work experience:

6 years of development experience, including 4 years in performance testing and tuning.

Required education/equivalencies:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other job-related degree;
OR, Associates degree in CS, IT, or other job-related degree plus 2 years of work-related experience;
OR, 4 years job-related work experience (total 10 years without a degree)
