Job Description:
Job SummaryContributing to the establishment and execution of the Program Management Office byadvocating for the PMOs mission and leveraging standardized tools, templates, processes, andsystems. Additionally, developing and implementing De Havilland Aircraft of Canada’s projectmanagement approaches and procedures across organizational programs and initiatives. Direct Accountabilities1. Project Planning:• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop detailed project plans, outliningspecific tasks, milestones, and dependencies.• Conduct comprehensive project scope analysis and break down complex projects intomanageable work packages.• Define project objectives, success criteria, and deliverables in alignment with companyexpectations.• Utilize historical project data and industry benchspans to ensure realistic and achievableproject timelines.2. Schedule Management:• Create and maintain Gantt charts, critical path analyses, and other visual representationsof project schedules.• Monitor project progress against established timelines, identifying deviations andpotential bottlenecks.• Anticipate scheduling conflicts and resource constraints, proactively proposingadjustments to maintain project momentum.• Collaborate with project teams to optimize task sequencing and resource allocation.3. Risk Management:• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments, identifying potential threats and opportunitiesthat could impact project outcomes.• Develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, outlining specific actions to addressidentified risks.• Regularly review and update the risk register, engaging stakeholders in risk identificationand mitigation strategies.• Facilitate risk workshops and scenario planning sessions to enhance project teampreparedness.4. Performance Metrics:• Define and track a comprehensive set of KPIs to measure project performance andprogress.• Analyze KPI data to identify trends, anomalies, and areas requiring intervention orimprovement.• Generate regular performance reports, translating complex data into clear and actionableinsights.5. Communication:• Facilitate effective communication across project teams, stakeholders, and seniorleadership.• Prepare and deliver concise project status updates, highlighting accomplishments,challenges, and upcoming milestones.• Act as a central point of contact for project-related inquiries, fostering transparency andinformation sharing.• Manage stakeholder expectations through clear and timely communication of projectprogress and potential issues.6. Continuous Improvement:• Actively seek opportunities to enhance project planning and control methodologies.• Participate in process improvement initiatives, contributing insights andrecommendations based on industry best practices.• Promote the adoption of new tools, techniques, and technologies to streamline projectmanagement processes.• Share lessons learned and success stories to promote a culture of continuous learning andimprovement.7. Documentation:• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans,schedules, risk registers, and change logs.• Ensure accuracy and completeness of all project-related documentation, enablingeffective project tracking and historical reference.• Archive project documentation upon project completion, contributing to organizationalknowledge management. Education, experience, skills, and attitude required• Bachelors degree in Engineering or Project Management, or a related field. Mastersdegree is an asset.• Project Management experience in an Aerospace related environment is considered anasset.• Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Primavera) andtools for risk assessment and mitigation.• Understanding of aerospace industry regulations, standards, and best practices.• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities for effective team collaborationand stakeholder engagement.• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is an asset.• Familiarity with aerospace manufacturing processes and systems is advantageous.• Excellent ability to communicate a strategy using PowerPoint and to work with Excel andMS-Project.• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships and work effectivelywith people at all organizational levels.• Candidate must be self-motivated, autonomous, and enthusiastic, possess excellentwritten and verbal communications and human relations skills and be willing to travel
