Our aerospace client in Hilsea are looking for an experienced press operator to make, manufacture and deliver slab and chemicals based upon customer demand.
Initially on a rolling contract this is a temp to perm opportunity.
After 6 months pay will increase to 14 per hour with further increases on offer as your skills progress.
Exceptional candidates may be offered a higher rate.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
Operate steam and electric press machinery to manufacture rubber mouldings to defined specifications, supporting the production of aircraft fueling systems.
Set up, load, and unload moulding tools into the press equipment, ensuring proper alignment, clamping, and safety compliance.
Monitor press cycles, temperatures, and pressures to ensure consistent product quality and adherence to production standards.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of moulded parts using gauges and templates to confirm conformity to drawings and work instructions.
Apply mould release agents and maintain cleanliness of tooling surfaces to prevent defects or contamination.
Troubleshoot basic press issues, escalate equipment faults, and support minor maintenance or adjustments as required.
Accurately complete production records, including batch traceability, inspection data, and process logs in line with quality management system requirements.
Handle rubber compounds and raw materials in line with safety, environmental, and material control procedures.
Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for process optimisation, waste reduction, and productivity enhancement.
Work collaboratively with quality and maintenance teams, escalating non-conformances or process deviations appropriately.
Ensure compliance with HSE standards, including use of PPE, safe machine operation, and awareness of chemical and thermal hazards
Mandatory Requirements
Good with confined space
PPE adherence (safety shoes, Overalls and safety glasses)
Able to use strong smelling chemicals
Adhere to Safety rules and do not deviate for short cuts or quick fixes.

Shift Pattern & Standard Hours: Day Shift 7.30 am to 4.15pm
37 Hours per week split over 9 Days – 5 Days one week 4 Days the next week rotating weekly
Week 1 – Mon – Thurs 8.25 hours/day 7.30am – 4.15pm
Week 2 – Mon - Thurs 8.25 hours/day 7.30am – 4.15pm, Friday 8 hours 7.30am – 4pm
