Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems (NGAS), F-35 Fighter Readiness, Sustainment, and Training Operating Unit, has an opening for a Mission Planning Environment (MPE) Administrator to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. You will be assigned as a Mission Planning Environment (MPE) Administrator providing mission planning support and software operations for the Mission Planning, Theater Data Generation, Tactical/Intel Debrief, AV Authentication & Crypto, Key Management, and Air Vehicle (AV) Secure Interface capabilities of the ALIS/ODIN system onsite at Edwards AFB, CA where you will be embedded in a dynamic and fast-paced military environment

Accomplish

This is an operational support role. The candidate may be required to support rotating shifts and work over 40 hours per week — which may include weekends and normal off shift time — as dictated by mission requirements.

Position Requirements and Duties include:

  • Be a self-starter, work without direct supervision.

  • Integrate into a high tempo military operational environment.

  • Able to work collaboratively in a team environment with other highly motivated multi-function administrators.

  • Expected to progress towards Subject Matter Expertise (SME) /Craftsman level capabilities and take the lead in resolution of technical matters

  • Primary Customer contact

  • Primary interface with LM technical support

  • Interacting daily with users and acting as a SME for the ALIS/ODIN product suite

  • Backups, restores, and disaster recovery of systems/databases/network equipment

  • System/software/firewall/account maintenance and monitoring

  • Installing approved system wide software, allocating mass storage space and

  • Maintaining smooth, secure operation of ALIS/ODIN through coordination with peers, Tier 2 NASC and Engineers

  • Reviewing processes/procedures and collecting system operational data for engineering analysis

  • Provide, manage, and support the ALIS/ODIN MPSE:

    • Maintain/Install MPSE updates to include monthly JMPS and appropriate GPS keys
    • Support pilots in Mission Planning/Debriefing Process
    • Support Portable Memory Device (PMD) data transfer and maintenance
    • Administer Ground Data Receptacle (GDR)
    • Perform data management of mission planning and mission recorded data
  • Ensure all GDR, MPE workstation, and MPE Collaboration Module security logs are retained for audit purposes.

  • Install and configure MPSE on the appropriate ALIS/ODIN units at the site

  • Provide, manage, and support the ALIS/ODIN Mission Planning Support Environment (MPSE)

  • Cryptographic Key Management:

    • Perform cryptographic key loading tasks for the GDR and the MPE WS

    • Perform cryptographic key processing as required to support the GDR
    • Audit cryptographic keys by reviewing audit logs on GDR and MPE WS

 

As training progresses, all Mission Planning Environment (MPE) Administrators will be expected to perform system, security, and network administration, and mission planning alongside core role as an MPE Administrator.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR experience in lieu of education 9 years of experience with a high school diploma Or, 3 years with a masters degree.

  • U.S Citizenship required.

  • Candidates must hold an active FINAL DoD Secret clearance with a background investigation closure date within the last 6 years.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain and maintain DoD IAT Level II CompTIA Security+ certification within 60 days of hire.

  • Be able to obtain and maintain Special Access Program clearance required for program access.

  • Be willing and able to travel for military deployments/detachments (ship and/or shore) for extended periods of time dependent upon operational needs.

  • Be capable of working various shift hours to include weekends, to support customer mission requirements.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in:

    • MS Windows Operating System
    • MS Windows Server Operating System
    • Linux Operating systems
    • MS Office Suite

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in:

    • MS Windows Operating System

    • MS Windows Server Operating System

    • Linux Operating systems

    • MS Office Suite

  • Previous experience, current knowledge, and developed skills in database administration, system administration, security administration, network administration, and/or mission planning are highly desired and preferred.

  • Active CompTIA Security+ Certification

  • F-35 aircraft experience

  • Military Operations & Planning Processes experience (e.g., mission planning and post-flight debriefing, etc.)

  • Communication Security (COMSEC) Management

  • Oracle Certified Associate (OCA)/Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) Certification

  • Microsoft Role-based Certification (MCSE: Productivity Path)

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate

  • Demonstrated proficiency in:

    • F-35 Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS) or its replacement
    • Communication Security (COMSEC) management

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidates experience, education, skills and current spanet conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
