Boeing Digital Aviation Solution India Software team is currently looking for an Principal Software Architect – Digital Aviation Solutions to join their team in Bangalore. This team develops software applications and solutions that create direct value for aviation customers. We provide re-vamped work environments focused on delivering data-driven solutions at a rapidly increased pace over traditional development. This role will be based out of Bangalore, India.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Own performance engineering aspects software design and architectural decisions for multiple products in the portfolio

  • Document and maintain architecture, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs related to performance engineering

  • Own, track and actively manage the technical debt to build quality and performance throughput.

  • Coordinates with teams to resolve complex issues related to processes, methods, tools and standards.

  • Maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners

  • Excellent presentation & communication skills – proficient in “business-speak” and “tech-speak”

  • and fluent in English, both spoken and written

  • Should have demonstrated ability to work in an AGILE environment.

  • This position will require some travel within India and internationally.

  • Demonstrated ability to create positive impact on customer by developing polished, cohesive,

  • effective, and user-friendly web applications for large and complex aviation related systems.

  • Mentors junior team members on technical aspects. The selected individual will also be responsible to provide support to development of internal competency and resources for critical

  • skill sets and be a sought-after expert that other developers can benefit from.

  • The selected individual will be a skilled, highly professional engineer, work collaboratively with an international team comprising software development, product management, and business analysis.

  • The candidate must work in close collaboration with the chief architect in a SAFe environment and bring in the following values

  • Vision: While Product Management provides the business vision, the Solution Architect is the single point of contact for the technical vision of our products and ensures that both the business vision and the technical vision are aligned

  • Organization liaison: You have a good understanding of what is happening in different parts of the organization in the architecture domain and make sure that decisions made in the domain are anchored to the rest of the organization

  • Representation in our Agile Release Trains: You ensure that the architecture work packages are properly represented in the release trains and you also help the release management team to find the balance between necessary architecture work and features needed in the product

  • Leadership: As a servant leader you are:

    • Accountable for the continuous evolution of architecture

    • Providing the necessary technical facilitation when needed

    • Partnering with the other architects and coaching the development teams

  • Big picture: You have a good understanding of how the big picture is formed – how different products come together and serve the business

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION

  • Hands on knowledge in the Architecture, Designing and Developing full stack modules and components for web applications.

  • Strong exposure to APIs & Application development, standards, best practices for API & Application development including secure software development practices

  • Seamless collaboration between teams, tools and processes to cover the performance engineering across the software development life cycle

    • Handling Performance Requirements

    • Performance Telemetry Definition and Monitoring for Applications

    • Profiling of the applications for doing performance analysis

    • Performance testing

    • Performance related troubleshooting/debugging

  • Strong exposure to data standards around Geo Spatial data applications for aerospace or related industry

  • Experience in Certified Application/API development for Aerospace Industry

  • Excellent programming skills in the latest tools & technology frameworks

  • Excellent experience on performance engineering tools like Apache JMeter, Load Runner, Load Ninja, WebLoad and related software language or scripts

  • Good exposure to in Kubernetes, Cloud-based managed services (DB, Error Logging, etc of various types) etc.

  • Good exposure to Azure DEVOPS or any other Devops lifecycle

  • Understanding of the DEV-SEC-OPS methodologies is preferred

  • Should have strong experience in object-oriented programming, Java FSD /J2EE applications, Python and advanced concepts.

  • Ability to develop new and innovative applications as well as maintaining existing code.

  • Good understanding of Relational or NoSQL databases and understanding of the performance engineering processes and tools

  • Experience in application integration/migration with both COTS and In-House applications required (through a middleware SOA solution)

  • Have experience in ALM tools (GitLab, TFS, Gradle, Maven, Jenkins, Docker, Artifactory, Pivotal

  • Cloud Foundry, SonarQube, Ansible, Urbancode, ClearCase, SVN).

  • Working exposure with Agile (Scrum & SAFe) and DevOps is a must

  • Excellent working knowledge of the entire software development life-cycle

  • Knowledge of emerging AI/ML trends and technologies.

  • Knowledge AI/ML frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn

  • Exposure to cloud computing platforms, such as AWS and GCP

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience ) :

  • Aerospace /Avionics domain knowledge is preferred.

Typical Education & Experience:

  • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 16 Plus years related work experience or Master’s Degree with 15+ years of experience with  an equivalent combination of education and experience
