Job Description

What We Do:

The Jacksonville facility manufactures gas turbine engine ignition systems, including ignition exciters, igniters and leads, as well as speed sensors and other electronic components. Product engineering, new product development and testing is performed on site. Jacksonville does repair and overhaul of ignitions systems and speed sensors.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Shadow experienced technicians, operators, and engineers to see how parts flow through the entire manufacturing process—from incoming materials to finished products.

  • Observe how safety, quality checks, and documentation are built into every step of the process and learn why these are critical in the aerospace industry.

  • Sit in on team huddles or production meetings (as appropriate) to see how daily priorities, problem-solving, and continuous improvement ideas are discussed.

  • Learn how different teams (production, engineering, quality, and repair/overhaul) work together to solve issues and keep parts moving.

  • Help with simple data collection or tracking tasks (for example, recording counts, times, or basic observations) to support process improvements under supervision.

  • Develop a basic understanding of manufacturing flow by mapping out the steps a part takes through one area of the shop, with guidance from your mentor.

  • Learn to use basic hand tools and measuring equipment, such as calipers and scales

  • Observe and support processes such as soldering and machine operation under supervision

  • Follow clear work instructions and procedures

  • Help with basic assembly tasks like cutting and crimping wires

  • Keep your workspace organized and tidy by following best practices

  • Get the chance to work in different departments to learn about various aspects of manufacturing

Eligibility Requirements:

  • At least 16 years old

  • Currently enrolled in a Vocational Technical High School / CTE program

  • Minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA off a 4.0 scale without rounding

  • OSHA 10 Training

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • A strong interest in learning about manufacturing and assembly

  • Basic computer skills and the ability to follow instructions

  • Good communication skills—both written and spoken

  • A team player who can also work independently when needed

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds and pass a standard eye exam if required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Familiarity with basic hand tools and assembly tasks is a plus

  • A keen interest in electronics, soldering, or other technical skills
