Take your career to new heights as a QA Auditor with Ascent Aviation Services, playing a key role in upholding the highest standards in aviation safety and compliance by planning and conducting audits in accordance with FAA, EASA, C.A.S.E. 1A, and AS9100 requirements. Youll collaborate with internal teams and external agencies, generate detailed audit reports, and drive continuous improvement through CARs, CAPs, and root cause analyses. From vendor audits to fuel system compliance and team coaching, this is a hands-on opportunity to impact quality across every level of our operation.

As a 24/7 operation, we have openings across all shifts, including days, evenings, weekends, and 12-hour schedules. Candidates must be flexible and willing to work any shift based on operational needs. Some schedules may qualify for shift differential. Overtime—both scheduled and unscheduled, including holidays—may also be required.

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Effectively communicate with internal departments and external agencies including FAA, EASA, ISO, C.A.S.E., and customer audit personnel.
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct internal follow-up audits per FAA, EASA, C.A.S.E. 1A, and AS9100 standards.
  • Generate detailed audit reports identifying deficiencies and assist in correction efforts.
  • Maintain and track audit findings to support continuous quality performance improvements.
  • Create and issue CARs/CAPAs; assist in Root Cause Analyses and implement Comprehensive Corrective Actions.
  • Manage the audit and CAR tracking system spreadsheet or similar tools.
  • Conduct vendor audits and verify subcontractor compliance with quality standards. Perform daily surveillance, Vendor On-Site (VOS), and Work In-Progress (WIP) audits.
  • Investigate deficiencies and damage to company or customer assets.
  • Coach and support QA team members.
  • Conduct audits on fuel storage and delivery process in compliance with NFPA 10, NFPA 407, ATA 103, and the Ascent Fuel Control Service Manual.
  • Support the Training Department with cross-functional tasks.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, protecting both employees and company resources.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement projects.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:  

  • Ability to conduct audits aligned with 14 CFRm EASA, and other regulatory standards.
  • Experience using MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to interpret technical data and analyze job audit results.
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of Quality Assurance auditing experience, preferably in MRO, commercial aviation, or ISO9001/AS9110/CASE environments.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelors degree in aviation maintenance or a related field preferred.
  • ASQ certification (CQA, CMQ/QE) or Quality System Lead Auditor certification preferred.
  • Valid drivers license required.
  • Possession of a valid A&P license preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of 14 CFR Parts 21, 43, 65, 120, 121, 125, 135, and 145.
  • Familiarity with ATA 103 fuel standards preferred.
  • Experience with supplier quality control and root cause/corrective action systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, crouching, kneeling, balancing, and reaching above shoulder level.
  • Occasional crawling, climbing, lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling up to 50 lbs. unassisted.
  • Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity.
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

EQUIPMENT OPERATED: 

  • Standard office equipment (computers, phones, etc.)
  • Audit-specific equipment and software
  • Safety inspection tools as required

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Work location: Aircraft maintenance hangar, flightline, and office areas.
  • Potential hazards: Exposure to noise, temperature fluctuations, chemicals, electrical systems, and moving machinery.
  • Protective Equipment: Safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, safety harness, face shields, etc.

OTHER DUTIES: 

  • May be required to work at both Marana, AZ and Tucson, AZ locations as business needs dictate. 
  • Additional duties may be assigned at the discretion of department management.
