Position Summary
The Receiving Technician I position is responsible for receiving, recording and stocking products.
Reports to: Materials Manager , Value Stream Team Lead, Value Stream Manager, Plant Manager and/or Operations Manager
Scope/Supervision: Interfaces with multiple areas of the manufacturing area, Quality Dept, Engineering and Supply Chain. Works under limited supervision. No supervisory responsibilities.
Responsibilities
Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Able to unload trucks, consolidate inventory, follow put away process, and replenish locations utilizing forklift, stacker unit (walkie), computer, scale, RFID gun, hand carts and hand tools as required.
- Able to utilize SAP inventory system.
- Able to validate and confirm information and material quantities on all packing slips to assigned purchased orders for receipt into system.
- Performs daily cycle counts and resolves discrepancies in inventory.
- Participates in root cause analysis for out-of-stock items that could impact production.
- Maintains labels and warehouse inventory locations.
- Follows and adheres to all safety, 5S and housekeeping rules and procedures
- Participates in continuous improvement initiatives
- Actively participates in High Performance Teams (HPTs) as assigned.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must have basic computer, math and industrial skills
- Must be mechanically competent
Additional Qualifications:
- Forklift certificate preferred or willingness and ability to become forklift certified. Training/certification will be provided for the following types of equipment: traditional forklift, walk behind forklift (powered stacker), and single man lift.

Physical Requirements:
Occasionally: Squatting or Kneeling
Frequent: Walking, Reaching Outward, and Bending Lifting 10-50 lbs.
Constant: Handling/Gripping, Standing, Lifting 10 - 25 lbs.
Occasionally: Push/Pull 12 lbs. – 50 lbs.
Work Environment/PPE:
Air Quality: Good
Temperature: Varies from hot to cold depending on weather and due to the open dock doors when
loading and unloading trucks. Air conditioning supplied for the entire plant.
Floor Condition: Some slippery area in machining. Most areas are clean and non-hazardous.
Work Space: Stand up desk area with computer and file cabinets; Warehouse Space; Forklift Area
Hazards: Working in warehouse with overhead racks that store raw material. Operating a fork
truck loading and unloading.
PPE: Safety Glasses; Safety Shoes with Metatarsal covers; other items as needed for particular job (cut gloves, sleeves, etc….)
