JOB SUMMARY:
The Regional Clinical Education Manager is responsible for developing and managing base-level training and education needs to support clinical excellence. This position provides direct management of the Base Trainer, to distribute efficient and high-quality base-level education. This position proactively grows with the organization to support innovative and evidence-based curriculum. The Regional Clinical Education Manager will identify and implement ongoing internal educational needs in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Education and key clinical stakeholders.
This position is subject to the Crew Safe Weight Policy. In the event a Regional Clinical Education Manager exceeds the weight limit, they will be allowed to assume all administrative responsibilities while not on flight status. All other requirements of the Crew Safe Weight Policy apply to this position.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or related field strongly preferred. May substitute direct years of experience in similar position for educational years.
- Current instructor status in BLS, ACLS, PALS and NRP preferred
- Minimum 3 years of Flight Nurse, Flight Paramedic, or Flight Respiratory Therapist experience required. Position scheduled a minimum of 24 hours of flight time per pay period
- 2 years Clinical Education experience preferred
- Meets and consistently maintains all qualifications of operational clinical specialty
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- Demonstrated positive interpersonal and communication skills with co-workers, patients, families, physicians and the community
- Demonstrated knowledge of operations, including staff development
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a willingness to lead by example
- Must hold a valid driver’s license, have access to an automobile in good repair, be able to provide proof of auto insurance, meet LFN’s Driver’s Policy requirements and able to travel whenever and wherever business needs necessitate
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Regional Clinical Education Manager reports to the Director of Clinical Education and works closely with the Education Department and key interdepartmental stakeholders to support clinical training needs and standardized curriculum. Maintenance and compliance are adhered to in the following areas:
- Provide direct management of Clinical Trainers, including, but not limited to: timecard approval, compliance and performance management.
- Ensure clinical employees’ equipment competencies and in-person educational needs are met via the Base Trainer.
- Manage standardized education curriculum adherence delivered by the Clinical Trainers.
- Respond to and manage assigned regional educational needs for clinical employees.
- Participate in interdisciplinary meetings as required by Director of Clinical Education.
- Work with key stakeholders to clear employees off orientation status.
- Oversee internal scheduled AHA and NRP certification courses via online learning management system calendar.
- Participate in annual education review and planning with the Director of Clinical Education.
- Participate in scheduled 1:1 meeting with the Director of Clinical Education to discuss current projects, work and personal goals and roadblocks preventing forward progression.
- Participate in region-specific base meetings to communicate education updates, trends and/or issues.
- Work closely with Medical Directors to help develop and maintain open forum discussion with clinical employees on trending patient-care needs.
- Communicate education and/or clinical training needs with the education department for base-centered training.
- Compliance with departmental and company policies and procedures.
