Road Transport Driver

Applications are currently being invited for the role of Road Transport Driver (Team Member B) in Dublin. Reporting to the Manager Internal Services,the Road Transport Driver position is a role providing professional road transport logistics services to all departments requiring surface transportation. This is a 7-day shift position.

Your responsibilities as a Road Transport Driver (Team Member B) will include:

• Assisting the Transport Duty Supervisor in the co-ordination of guest lost baggage delivery services to Aer Lingus logistics partner suppliers.
• Perform passenger road transport operations including provision of staff car park shuttle services, guest transport services and staff operational transport services.
• Perform frontline deliveries of mishandled guest baggage directly to guests.
• Performing ad-hoc transport collections and deliveries as operationally required and directed by the Transport Duty Supervisor.
• Provide road transportation logistic support to key operations areas in times of major disruption such as adverse weather and major incidents.
• Provide operational support across Internal Services sections Transport/Post as required.
• Performance of day-to-day operations within Transport/Internal services areas while providing a high standard of service to all customers.
• Support/Liaise with the Duty Transport supervisor in providing updated information on arrival times of transport operations in mitigating potential delays to OTP.
• Working with partner suppliers.to ensure the highest standard of service is provided to staff, guests and all customers.
• Performance of daily vehicle checks and deliveries using technology applications.
• Adherence to RSA driver hours and transport regulations.

We are looking for an individual with experience / qualifications in the following areas,

• Proven communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels both within and outside of Aer Lingus.
• Ability to use own initiative and contribute effectively as part of a team.
• Ability to work under pressure in a busy transport logistics area.
• Experience in driving commercial vehicles over early/late shift periods is an advantage.
• Ability to prioritise work with strong attention to detail.
• A flexible approach to work and a positive attitude to change.
• Customer focused with an awareness of our customer expectations.
• You must hold a current full clean category C driving licence and valid driver CPC. You will need to achieve a D1 licence within six months of taking up this position.
• Geographical knowledge of the Greater Dublin area and country locations including Northern Ireland is an advantage.
• Familiar with operating map applications (Google maps) and online daily driver vehicle checks applications. 
• Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
• Eligible to live and work in the EU.
• Hold a current unrestricted worldwide passport.
• Provide 3 verifiable references.
• Able to pass a strict airport security vetting procedure which includes a 5-year background check* (or be in possession of a current airside pass for the airport this position is based in)
