Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm

Mission:

To plan, schedule and perform a wide variety of procedures, processes or inspections and experiments to test process, determine the material and physical properties of ceramics, waxes, metals, alloys and/or parts. To work with technical/production Technician IV’s and Engineers to devise new methods and/or procedures and outline major projects. To provide solutions to complex problems in major area and carry out projects independently.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Provides solutions to complex problems in major technical/production field by applying a wide variety of techniques, processes and procedures. Works independently with consultative input and periodic review by Technician IV’s or Lab management.
  • Plans, schedules and completes small to medium sized projects. Determines procedures, schedules and manpower requirements. Coordinates activities with other Technicians.
  • Gathers, records, analyzes and summarizes data in various formats, prepares technical reports of results, evaluates projects, goals and processes.
  • Provides technical assistance and leadership to Technician’s I & II.
  • Contacts and coordinates activities with other Technicians, Engineers and Production personnel, may act as liaison with vendors and/or customers on specific issues.
  • May be required to work with hazardous waste.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 4-5 years prior relevant experience OR A.S. or A.A. degree and 2-3 years of specific relevant technical experience OR B.S. degree with 1-2 years of specific relevant experience OR equivalent training and experience.
  • Considerable knowledge of and familiarity with basic scientific principles and laboratory techniques and considerable theoretical knowledge of major field, awareness of relationship between major field and other discipline
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to apply a wide variety of technical procedures under general directions and to complete work independently.
  • Ability to plan, schedule, evaluate and coordinate designated projects.
  • May be required to complete Hazardous Waste Management training.
