Sandblasting of various metals to achieve a desired surface finish to support special processing (chemical plating, paint, and/or heat treatment).
· Sand blasts parts prior to plating or heat treatment.
· Interpret blueprints, work instructions, both written and verbal instructions
· Perform bench and machine operations to clean, polish, break edges, form radii, blend defects, remove contamination, remove excess material, remove flash, remove nodules and detect unusual defects in material or workmanship.
· Use hand tools, hand scrapers, small sand stones, small power tools, abrasive blast, belt sanders, and buffing wheels. Parts are held in the hand or in simple fixtures. May operate bench grinders, polishers and other bench machinery.
