Job Summary:

Work with cross-functional stakeholders to implement and integrate business applications to maximize operational efficiency. Translate business requirements into functional design and deliver solutions working with web technologies with an eye for usability, scalability, automation, and security. Provide administration, configuration, development, and user support for SaaS and self-hosted issue management systems. Act as subject matter expert for design, best practices, and technical platform capability.

An ideal candidate in this role will have a solid software development foundation and experience delivering complex application solutions in a large organization. Expert level ServiceNow platform knowledge and hands-on experience driving ServiceNow deployments with technical and business partners are preferred.

What you will be doing:

Information Systems Development

  • Translate designs into software by analyzing functional specifications and interpreting complex system design specifications and provides systems engineering support on large scale systems, major system elements, and/or interfacing systems, requiring extensive investigation and clarification.
  • Conduct analysis to define, analyze and allocate requirements. Prepares program-level and user-level documentation.
  • Develop functional block diagrams and data/logic flow charts.
  • Design complex software tools and subsystems to support development, test, and reuse and manages their implementation.
  • Code, integrate, test, debug, and refine the software to produce the required solution.
  • Enhance software/processes to reduce operating time or improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to integrate data and processes across systems.
  • Support strategic system migrations.

Subject Matter Expertise

  • Define and communicate clear goals for the architecture including the reasons it was chosen, key attributes, risks and how the architecture meets product and business requirements.
  • Define reusable reference architectures, application frameworks, reducing cost, complexity, and overall maintenance of proposed solutions.
  • Recommend and develop architectural design patterns / best practices that align with overall architectural standards and enable development teams.
  • Review existing designs and identify opportunities for improvements to existing systems.
  • Participate in detailed design and code reviews as necessary to ensure alignment with the chosen architecture and recommended design patterns.
  • Evaluate upcoming technologies, stay current with industry best practices, and adapt them into the system architecture as needed to enable the product roadmap.
  • Create prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and demonstrations to evaluate new architecture / technologies on the systems.

Support & Operations

  • Respond to user support requests.
  • Provide best practices and knowledge articles to address commonly asked questions/issues.
  • Provide end-user training for application functionality.
  • Review proposals and SOWs from vendors, and work with procurement in negotiations.
  • Monitor application systems availability, performance, and resolve incident reports following standard ITIL practices.
  • Participate in evaluation/recommendation of patches, point releases, major upgrades, and new systems.
  • Work closely with vendors to maintain licenses, evaluate add-ons, and resolve support tickets.
  • Maintain backend databases integrity and performance optimization.
  • Occasionally work outside normal hours to perform system maintenance or meet with global users.

The salary range of $90,000 - $151,000 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. Base pay offered may vary depending on skills, experience, job-related knowledge and location.

What we are looking for:

Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field with minimum 5 years of experience.
  • Certifications Required (ServiceNow CSA).
  • Certifications Preferred (CIS-ITSM, CIS-CSM, CAD).
  • 3+ years’ experience with ServiceNow development.
  • ServiceNow experience implementing ITSM, ITOM, ITAM (Incident, Change, CMDB, Discovery, CMDB, Service Mapping, Service Portal, Mobile, etc).
  • ServiceNow experience with HRSD, CSM, or SPM is a plus.
  • ServiceNow experience developing service catalog items and custom applications.
  • ServiceNow experience integrating with third-party applications such as Jira, Workday, Oracle, using Integration Hub and RESTful implementations.
  • ServiceNow experience with IDP solutions (LDAP, SSO, SAML).
  • ServiceNow experience creating/maintaining a secure UI and data environment (ACLs, business rules, UI policies, data policies, client scripts, etc).
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical thinking skills.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental web technologies.
  • Demonstrated experience driving change within an organization and supporting complex technical projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage priorities, context switches and make efficient use of shared resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with user-centered, iterative design and development process.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technical information to a non-technical audience and business concepts to a technical audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify risk and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Strong proficiency in JavaScript / ES6, including DOM manipulation and the JavaScript object model.
  • Experience in high level programming languages, such as Java, Python, JavaScript, Perl, etc.
  • Experience with RDBMS such as SQL Server, MySQL/MariaDB, PostGreSQL.
  • Experience with ETL patterns and practices for integrating data streams and migrating data.
  • Experience presenting to all levels of users (internal and external) in English.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • On-call availability for 2 days per month.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and other computer components.
