Position SummaryThe Shipping & Receiving Clerk will be mainly responsible for verifying parts have shipped, invoicing shippers at the end of each workday, coordinating shipments in customer portals, properly scanning and organizing shippers in local drive, and continuously building skills in a variety of tasks across shop floor.
Shift: 1st (6:30AM - 3PM) M-F
ResponsibilitiesBy following established procedures, responsibilities may include some or all of the following:Package boxes, crates and prepare final shipment of large variety of components and assemblies asdirected per customer requirements.
• Demonstrates an understanding of packaging requirements for each customer and is familiar with certain packaging equipment.• Process export paperwork and shipments.• Package boxes, crates and prepare final shipment of large variety of components and assemblies as directed per customer requirements.• Verify that parts have shipped and then invoices shippers at the end of each workday.• Responsible for coordinating shipments in customer portals.• Primary for scanning shippers and associated documents to local drive.• Evaluates export requirements and ensures compliance of all shipment related documentation and reporting.• Processing of hazardous material shipments. Minimal travel may be required for training.• Ordering trucks for shipment of various non-standard deliveries.• Interpret shipping instructions as referenced on company documents or customer specifications or standards related to preservation and packing.• Receives, counts, and completes paperwork for incoming parts, products and/or materials anddistributes incoming shipment contents.• Acts as last audit point to ensure all shipment documentation is complete, accurate and present.• Coordinates with team to resolve issues.• Good record keeping and filing is essential.• May be required to make routine or periodic deliveries of outgoing shipments, which requires possession of a valid state driving license.• Serves as lead trainer (as required) for all the above listed responsibilities.• Perform any other responsibilities as required and/or directed to support the overall goals of theOperations Team.
Minimum Qualifications• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.• 2 to 5 years shipping experience• Ability to read, write and understand written and verbal instructions, specifications, procedures, and drawings.• Must demonstrate good interpersonal skills and be willing to work effectively as a participative team member.• Must be able to multi-task and interface effectively with team members from all functionalareas.• Typing and general clerical abilities are required.• Must demonstrate good manual dexterity, reliable judgment, and possess a willingness to learn.• May be required to operate moving equipment and saw equipment and meet OSHA safety qualifications.• Good knowledge of computer terminal operations, shipping software.• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.• Must demonstrate effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications• May be required to lift up to 30 pounds.
