Position Summary

This position is responsible for assuring that all international and domestic shipments are completed in accordance with all applicable export / domestic regulations in addition to Cannon-Muskegon’s policies and procedures.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Works safely. Adheres to all company and regulatory EH&S policies and procedures.
  • Adheres to all Company 6-S initiatives and policies.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of international shipment process, including documents required, how freight moves via OTR (over the road) shipments, air shipments, and ocean shipments.
  • Experience arranging shipments in UPS, FedEx, DHL and other key freight partners.
  • Experience working with freight forwarders.
  • Prepare all necessary shipment documents, working closely with the sales team and freight forwarders to meet each individual customer requirements.
  • Ensure all required documentation is forwarded to customers contacts as required.
  • Determine the method and type of shipment for each order as specified by the customer
  • Maintain export shipment records for all international shipments, understanding the requirements for difference requirements globally.
  • High level understanding of SOX requirements related to invoicing, shipments and other key activities related to the role.
  • Self-started, understands activities that need to be completed daily with minimal supervision.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or other related field, or equivalent and/or a minimum of five (5) years of supervisory level experience in the shipping / traffic function in a manufacturing environment.

  • Basic knowledge of CM customers, manufacturing lead times, and lab turnaround times.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to establish effective intra- personal relationships with all levels of the organization, carriers, and freight forwarders.
  • Able to present information and data in a format that is understandable and communicate conclusions in a clear concise manner.
  • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills, can organize, prioritize and balance time to meet established deadlines.
  • Proficient in Glovia as applicable to assigned job duties.
  • Highly competent in Microsoft and other computer applications for information and data management.
