Software Architect

Job Description:

DPP is seeking a Software Architect for an opportunity in Charleston, SC.

Location: Fully remote
Duration: 4 months; W2 position

Position summary:

The Software Architect will assist in a project upgrading a proprietary software, the Cadet Accountability System (CAS)
Must be comfortable working Eastern time zone hours.

Required skills:

3+ years of experience with C
3+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL
3+ years of experience gathering and documenting project requirements

Preferred:

Familiarity with front-end web technologies such as React, JavaScript, or Material UI
Experience analyzing existing code and creating modernization plans
Familiarity with 3rd party data integrations using REST API’s and SQL extracts

Responsibilities:

Assess technical feasibility: architecture, scalability, and security of the current CAS system.
Examine operational alignment: support for cadet workflows and Commandant, Academic, and Athletic departments.
Review interoperability: integration with Banner, Canvas, My Citadel Portal, and health systems.
Analyze user experience, adoption, and training needs.
Evaluate economic feasibility: total cost of ownership (TCO) and ROI compared with alternative systems.
Analyze exiting codebase and provide recommendations, timeline, and roadmap for modernization or replacement.
Work with cross-functional teams on complex projects.
Present and prepare reports.
Assign appropriate priorities to work activities based on organizational goals and situational pressures.
Effectively plan and communicate work activities and deadlines.
