SR. CREATIVE DEVELOPER

SpaceX is seeking an interactive creative coder to join our communications team and contribute to the development of web-based experiences that push the boundaries of technology and creativity. You will collaborate with designers, artists, and project leads to conceptualize, develop, and implement engaging digital experiences with minimal direction in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with designers and artists to create immersive web-based experiences, games, simulations, and applications leveraging WebGL and tools such as Three.js, Phaser and Pixi.js.
• Develop a network-controlled photography system, including features for capturing, controlling, and managing photo and video content across multiple cameras.
• Develop interactive mobile applications for iOS and Android platforms, integrating features such as augmented reality (AR) and geolocation-based interactions using tools like Spark Studio.
• Explore new technologies and emerging trends in interactive media to prototype innovative concepts and experiences.
• Ensure seamless user interactions and intuitive navigation through the development of user interfaces and interactive elements.
• Create interactive installations for events, exhibitions, and public spaces using technologies such as motion sensors, touch screens, and projection mapping.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree.
• 7+ years of experience in front-end development using HTML5, CSS, and/or JavaScript.

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or interactive media.
• 10+ years experience in front-end development using HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience animating interfaces and elements such as SVGs using GSAP.
• Ability to develop complete experiences with Vanilla JavaScript, HTML and JS with no specific frameworks when needed.
• Experience with web development frameworks/libraries (e.g., React, Angular, Vue.js) and various game engines (e.g., Phaser, Unity, Unreal Engine).
• Ability to develop experiences based upon designs provided by the creative team.
• Experience with additional programming languages such as Python, C#, C++, and GLSL shaders.
• Strong understanding of User Interface (UI) design principles, User Experience (UX) concepts, color and interactive design patterns.
• Creative and curious mindset with a passion for exploring new technologies and pushing the boundaries of digital storytelling.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• A passionate creative developer who can take direction on some projects and willing to take the lead on others.
• Must be able to present relevant interactive work examples of the above qualifications to qualify.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be willing to work extended hours and/or weekends to support launch operations and critical project timelines.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:

Sr. Creative Developer: $110,000.00 - $145,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
